Inscription slot
Hi,
I've been wondering what makes an item have an inscription slot. Is it random or is it the place where the item dropped that makes it have an inscription slot or not, or maybe something else? Thanks |

It has to drop in Nightfall or EotN, generally. The exception is special chests like the Zaishen.
Even in NF and EotN it is possible for even a gold to drop with no inscription slot - rare, but it does happen. Prophecies and Factions - nope, doesn't happen. [edit] bah, slow typing. What he said ^ [edit2] kudos on the user name though - witty and concise!

Oh thanks, but if I'm not mistaken I saw an item that dropped out of a Zaishen chest that didn't have an inscription slot when it was identified.
edit: ok, thanks Snograt |

It's the place where it drops. Items dropped in Tyria (Prophecies) don't have an Inscription slot. I don't recall at the moment whether Factions items have inscription slots. Nightfall and EotN items do.
Almost any "skin" can pop out of Dungeon chests (and the Zaishen chest) with an inscription slot. |
