Dont forget that cantha has the eradon terrace bug for a good few .1%
to do it go outside eradon terrace with a shadowstep to ally skill (like [skill]Return[/skill] lure the foes to the shire so they chase the merch off, he should run past the portal shadowstep to him then you can explore the area in the outpost, but better yet go through the gate (just walk through it) go across the bridge and then you can actually walk on the mountain....good glitch that oh and you cant use h/h when doing it If you need me to show you feel free to PM me <-- IGN |

the only problem i find with Cantha is Jade Quarry. It is one of those abandoned pvp arenas that is hard to find a group for you to access it.

From what i found out, cantha has the most leeway if you scrape the walls thoroughly.
I didn't have to map the area where the statue of Kormir is in the chantry of secrets and i didn't need to map the dynastic tombs completely either. (probably around .2% i could get in those areas but already at 100%) in cantha, i was lucky enough to find a team to map the jade quarry and i ended up at 100% without the areas inside fort aspenwood i only maped the towns. Once again, i scraped toroughly. I did elona first then cantha. I dodn't use texmod either and i got my 100% without revisiting any areas. So my advice would be cantha. Also vanquisher combines well with cartographer. |

Elona is the easiest. I got 100% just from exploring while doing quests and missions without using textmod. I also never had to go back to an area for additional %, after I explored the last area I got 100%, Elona could not be any easier.
Cantha has the least amount of room for error when exploring IMO. I actually got 100% without Jade Quarry, but I'm pretty precise. |

I found Elona to be the easiest continent as the regions in it are clearly defined and there aren't many 'hidden trails' at the edges. Then I got Cantha, and finally Tyria which has lots of the edge trails and also regions that aren't directly accessible from an outpost.
I kept track of which regions I had done by taking jpg images of the maps from fansites and just painting over the regions as I completed them in photoshop. This was before the texmod stuff became available. And for those unable to get the PvP arena regions explored in Cantha because of lack of players there, there are threads in the forum "Cantha Explorers League" that organise exploring trips. I very much doubt ANet will make these regions explorable directly from the outposts. |

I have done a lot of exploring and have found Elona to be the easiest, next is Cantha and last is Tyria (the Shiverpeaks and mission explorables are a pain).

Elona was the fastest and easiest for me. Tyria was easy but long. Cantha was a pain because of jade quarry and monastery outlook.
