Should I get EOTN?
Ok, so I am a basically a PvP only but I do have a VWK farmer that just sits around. I know SWAY uses crippling victory, and monks use a skill or two usually from EOTN, but overall, how necessary is EOTN for PvP, especially GvG? When EOTN first came out, everyone was like, "You only need the 3 campaigns" but now people are using EOTN more and more. Should I get it? It's 30 bucks at EB though, makes me wonder why it is 40 bucks at the Guild Wars store! Seems like a lot.
so should I get it? why or why not |

Some of the skills are useful in PvP. But there are not near as many as with other GW games, and there are no new elites.
If your not sure check around for cheaper prices. I've seen some threads pop up saying that places like "Target" have the game for less than 30 dollars. To answer your questions directly: I would get it because it is a beautiful game that adds even more content to an already enormous adventure. (but I'm mostly a PvEer) Last edited by Fried Tech; Apr 04, 2008 at 07:22 PM // 19:22.. |

I would get EOTN. If you look hard enough you can find it for 10-20 bucks.

If you are really only interested in PvP primarily you might consider just getting the Eye of the North Skill Unlock Pack?

Its $10 at Target and $17 at Circuit City. At those prices it is well worth it.
Don't pay anything more then $25 for it (EB, Wal-mart, etc may have selection, but their pricing stinks). |

If I dont get EOTN I can kiss HA and Monking goodbye for a long while. I don't really see a choice in the matter. |

At least it was when I last checked. It was a temporary price cut. The question is, are the skills in EOTN that you want similar to other skills? If you can sub other skills, then you probably don't "Need" it. Beyond that, it's your choice if you want it. |

Purifying Veil=Enchantment Spell. While you maintain this Enchantment, Conditions expire 5...41...50% faster on target ally. When this Enchantment ends, one Condition is removed from that ally. Cure Hex=Spell. Remove one Hex from target ally. If a Hex was removed, that ally is healed for 30...102...120 Health. Aura of Stability=Enchantment Spell. For 3...9...10 seconds, target other ally cannot be knocked down. Patient Spirit=Enchantment Spell. For 2 seconds, target ally is Enchanted with Patient Spirit. When this Enchantment ends, that ally is healed for 30...102...120 Health. Ele: Glyph of Swiftness=Glyph. For 15 seconds, your next 1...3...3 Spells recharge 25% faster, and projectiles from those spells move 200% faster. Sin: Way of the Master=Enchantment Spell. For 60 seconds, while holding a non-dagger weapon, you have an additional 3...27...33% chance to land a critical hit. Derv: Crippling Victory=Scythe Attack. If you have more Health than target foe, that foe is Crippled for 5...13...15 seconds. This attack does +5...9...10 damage. etc etc etc etc etc I am sure there are a few more http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...e_North_skills Only CV and AoS can be replaced, but those are both replaced with higher costing skills in one way or another, and AoS required another class entirely. The way it is now, if you don't have EOTN, you can't PvP seriously. It really sucks, and I'm NOT going to pay more than 20 dollars for it. I refuse. I'll quit first. Again. Ok, i guess I will just stick to PD for now until it goes down in price. Last edited by Ganks; Apr 08, 2008 at 03:37 PM // 15:37.. |
