In the retail version, there's a little cardboard Shield thingy with a perforated edge (pwns the scratchoff key from Prophecies and the booklets from Factions/NF). Punch that out and open it up. Add that to your account and you'll be good.

Len Caldoron is inside Lion's Arch, regardless of whether you have GW:EN or not (but you won't get the quest from him unless you own GW:EN). He's near the big fountain, by the Guild Registrar and Embelmer.

ok this is sooo confusing...... i bought the guild wars (game of the year edition) on the box it does not say that it's eye of the north.... BUT when i turn on the game on the main log in screen it says GUILD WARS EYE OF THE NORTH.

so what kind of game is this? cause i only have one key here (in black little envelope)

The login screen is the same no matter what game you own. If you just had factions, it would just have Eye of the North on the login screen.
Think of it as an advertisement for the game.

Sounds like you don't own Eye of the North at all.

that's stupid! why would they put eye of the north logo if you dont own it?

oww and by the way, i bought eye of the north yesterday, so i'm good now

Because the old login screens for Phophecies and Factions are out of date and don't have certain features the current one has (in game store access, support for multiple additional character slots, etc).
