These days most, if not every, PUG and Guild will expect people to have heroes. GWEN and Nightfall have heroes, Factions doesn't. It's not a dig at Factions, but really putting forth two options which are more useful, as it were. Factions is great, especially for armour, but the henchies over there seem to lack some intelligence.

It's a personal thing but I hate prophecies. I get all my characters run to ascalon and maybe droks, but otherwise my only Prophecies character is a perma-pre.

I too am a returning member after almost two years in the mist. I last played (properly) just after Factions was released, feeling rather unnecessarily that I wouldn't be able to continue playing due to not investing in new chapter.

Recently my eldest daughter had discovered the original disks just lying around and asked if she could install it - just to keep her from nagging I decided to let her. It turns out though, that I was the one enjoying rediscovering this game, although the only major problem I had was the total lack any skill at all. Having a high level character was useless as I had forgotten how to us her, so all that was left was to start back at the beginning.

Saying all this, the lower costs of the additional chapters and expansion mean that I will be buying them in the very near future - starting with Nightfall.

Guru has some great folks.. but some comments should be taken with a grain of salt and not let them get to ya...

As another returning noob, my advice is; join a decent pve guild. I found a great group of folks that have helped me with the tougher end missions, given me great weapons at no cost, etc... Without them, the game would be a joyless grind.
