Okidoki, let me start you of with asking the following
-Would you rather focus on diong damage or preventing it? Sins are mainly damage dealers, para's are mostly support (they can deal damage as well, but most people play command or motivational paragons ) |

Well as a assassin some people will view you as OMG its a assassin and not even bother to invite you into a group. Mainly due to the fact assassin die really really easily. But if you use one make sure you have something that blocks attacks i use flashing blades 75% chance to block while attacking.
Also keep your attack combos fast because that is where your main damage comes from is your skills, the normal attack is weak. I use jagged strike wild strike and death blossom probably a very common but effective. I got a degen, a stance removal( helps a lot because if one of your attacks misses your chain is gone because assassins are chain attackers) and a AOE skill that even if no other targets i hit twice for a good chunk. I also take deaths charge and Deaths retreat. The shadow steps are a life savor. Beinging able to teleport to the target after lets say a warrior takes the blunt of the damage to pick the target off is nice, because with a fast effective combo a assassin can drop targets quite quickly, and i use deaths retreat to stay alive because running away is risky this way if i get hit for like 300 damage i shadow step to a range allie and get healed with the shadow step even if a healer doesn't heal me i live. Paragons can play a multy role they can be ranged damage dealers and very good ones throwing bleeding, burning and even deep wound onto targets. Support shouts, echos which can heal party member when they attack, take a hit or add burning to there attacks or my favorite reduce damage taken by like 29% for like 10seconds. A Paragon would be a jack of all trades yet a master of none, you have high armor you can run up and do a melee multy build and tank or you can sit in the back and throw your spear killing your enemy or throwing echos and shouts to heal your allies, give them buffs reduce damage even heal. Paragons are also one of the least played classes so if you wanna be like I AM A PARAGON. There ya go. Last edited by Armageddon (Varying Name); Apr 11, 2008 at 07:45 AM // 07:45.. |

As said above, it really depends on your preferred playing style. Assassins are specialist of semi-independent skirmishing and fast spiking of key opponents. In its PvE usefulness a sin is comparable to a mesmer and requires about the same level of skill to play effectively. Paragons are specialists of party buffing while providing decent DPS. In it's PvE usefulness a goon is somewhere between a warrior and a monk. Paragon as a class has the best self-synergy of all professions and a shallow learning curve.
If you want to solo farm, assassin is by far the more versatile option (there are solo paragon builds as well but a solo paragon kind of goes against its defining characteristics). If you want to eventually reach a high KoaBD rank (5 or 6), doing it with a paragon will be much, much easier, especially if you're mostly H+H'ing. Paragons might have better luck than sins at getting accepted into a PuG, just because of their direct usefulness to the rest of the party. |

play which ever one you like more.
i have a sin and a para, i have more hours on my sin seeing it was my 2nd character but i've been playing my para more then my sin recently. with my knowledge i'd say paragons have an advantage for H/H, but sins are extremely fun. |

I'd go Para because making your whole team invincible is generally a good thing, all nicely wrapped together with some damage on the side.

If you like solo farming: heres an example of a sin build you'd be using a lot of the time
[shadow form] [sliver armor] [deadly paradox][glyph of lesser energy][glyph of elemental power][shadow of haste] [dark prison]..... or some variant of that. In teams however, the only build that an sin is good for(that i know of) is prolly [moebius strike]+[death blossom] If you like doing High level areas with people, then having your bar as such:... [focused anger] [save yourselves][theres nothing to fear][spear of fury] would make you very VERY popular Or if you wanna ursan, this : [ursan blessing]+ some of: [mending refrain][bladeturn refrain][blazing finale]etc etc, basically most of the echo skills, is also very handy on a para. I would go assassin.
-Sin can replace ranger in elite areas, so you can find groups more easily (crit barrager). Paragons seem to have a hard time joining elite area groups unless they go ursan. -sin can chestrun the best, if you decide to max all your titles. (permaform ftw; HM chestruns =) just 2 reasons i can think of at the moment |

As for Para versus Assassin, I love playing Assassin because of their high damage, but Para makes H+Hing a LOT easier. 83% damage reduction ftw... not inclduing the reduction from TNtF. I would go for Paragon. |

Paragon.
Even without SY/TNTF'gon, and just using a generic Paragon, they're extremely powerful. Like Scythes, Spears are also stupidly powerful. Not to mention the e-management on Paragons. The passive defense, and incredibly strong auto-attacking power of a Paragon is hard to pass up. |

imo Paragon.
SY/TntF makes the whole game easier, also...50% or more of sins are complete idiots |
