The Most Common Type of PvP Elementalist Damage Type - Guild Wars Forums

What is the most common PvP elementalist damage type? Is it fire or lightning? I'd normally think fire, but AoE doesn't work as well in PvP, and lightning damage is great for spikes. So I'm not sure now. Which is it? Thanks.

I'd probably say air is used more than fire in PvP. AoE is great in PvE but most people (should) move out of the AoE in PvP, so the utilities of air (knockdown, blind, armour penetration) usually work better.

I would say air or water depends on where you are playing.You could do a little speccing in both.

Fire. A lot of the fire skills don't target AoE like Starburst. Using quick cast attacks, even if they have to get close, the enemy is going to burn up.

Just in case you misunderstood, I'm asking what's the most commonly used damage type (so I can bring protection against it), not what type I should use.

Anti-air. (The only thing worthwhile to have as protection against it would be a shield. Better yet, make a pvp character with shields vs all dmg types)

eles dont do damage in PvP. you should be more worried about warriors with conjure mods and things of that sort.

anyways just bring one for each element.
