New Laptop for games
It's that time again when I need to upgrade my laptop. I have not decided yet as to what to buy. I need something that will run my applications and games like doom 3, Half Life 2, Guild Wars, Time Shift, just to mention some.
So far, my budget is $1,500.00 I have seen the Dell XPS models and the HP dv9700 models. Any recommendations??? Last edited by Siirius Black; Apr 23, 2008 at 09:42 PM // 21:42.. |

Wrong forum aside, I like the Thinkpad T61. You can customize a few additional bells and whistles into it and still come in under budget.

Back in March I stumbled across the Gateway P-6831 FX. Gateway has since replaced it with an updated model, but this version can still be found at Bestbuy's online store.
AnandTech also reviewed and benchmarked it. They then compared it to other gaming notebooks. IMO for the price, its tough to beat. If you can stand the funky battery shape that is. If you wanted the newest version, the only notable differences I saw were a slightly faster processor and a smaller hard drive, for about 150ish dollars more.
