Settle this once and for all
Ok I was doing the norn point farm with the path or revelations quest and i went from r4 to r9 in a day. i was playing with my sin running with two headpieces (1+3(CS), 1+3(DM)). I usually use the 16 dm mask for getting there and switching to the cs mask for the monk boss so my damage doesnt go over 60 and i can ussually take him down solo in about 7 seconds, but with a group of r8-9 ursans is take about 3 minutes.
as for the monk boss. he is mainly prot, so "it" will use spirit bond and rof to heal itself. spirit bond will trigger on 60+damage. Im assuming this includes any type of damage, including ursan skills. why do people assume that we should only use ursan skills on the monk boss? if we are all over r6 then all of us will continue to trigger spirit bond with ursan strike, right? or am i wrong? |

i think you answered your own question.
if you are doing the damage requirement or above to trigger spirit bond, then yes, spirit bond will trigger. |

ive found that just beating on the boss he will go down withe the high energy cost of spirit bond and the KDs he doesnt last long, just fight through it, he isnt a real pain so i wouldnt worry about spec-ing the party just for him.
but if you really wanna make it quick then bring stuff like daze, more KDs, encht stripping and crap like that. |

Ursan Rage however is an attack that deals damage, and triggers prot spells.s the same as toucher, which cannot be defended against, you can only heal the damage. This is the reason why Ursan is overpowered in PvE. In other words, when dealing with such bosses, unequip weapon, then keep hitting 1,1,1,1,1,1,1 until the boss is dead. Quote:

that's the end of that monk boss |

You are wrong, OP was right. This is a classic example of why never to listen to what people in a PuG tell you. |

I tested it on Isle on nameless and also did a quick damage test. Seems that ursan skills without consumables do a little over 50 dps consistent. |

Ursan Rage @ Rank 10 deals 12.(27)* DPS (135/11) For a grand total of 49.77(27)* DPS So how did you get 'a little over 50'? *=The number in parentheses repeat. |

you just need to time the knockdowns between the ursans, and only use Ursan Strike when the monk Facet is already on its arse so it cant heal itself. It goes down very very fast that way. You are just playing with Ursans who are terribaed at Ursan and spam Ursan Rage on recharge

Ursan's Blessing is obviously underpowered judging by this issue.
Maybe ANet should introduce Easy Mode for ursan groups so they can gain their R10 more easily. |
