I only know of guilds like SMS from these forums. I've never found anyone from the popular "Guru-Guilds" that stood out to me in game. I don't mean this in either a good or bad way, but I just haven't played with some of the folk or seen them in towns a whole lot
On the other hand, I can't bring myself to comment negatively on guilds because I think there's a unique positive aspect to each one, even if people outside that guild may disagree. I will say this though: I don't think all the "leet" players are in one guild, and I don't think all the scrubs hang around together, either. I caution against brand loyalty - there's so much out there.

SMS are the only real pve guild famous for being good at pve, and even then some are bad (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, ARKY :P)
DVDF are known for being carebear idiots who care about lore (AND CANT KILL MALLYX) Sins are known for holding towns. |

I really don't care of the who's who in Guild Wars. People getting all giddy about running into a "famous" guild is pathetic imo.

DVDF - Everyone knows them
SMS - Had never heard of them till i saw all their failed attempts on the fastest elite area's thread, but everyone else seems to have. agro - Can't get away from them :P SNOW, LaZy, GoE, CASH, few i always see floating about. But which guilds you see depends on what you do.... I used to live in Toa and only saw GoE, CASH etc, now I live in deep and the only guild I've seen more than 3 from regularly is HKRO which i bet nobody has heard of. |

Anyways... DVDF - Hate to say this, not b/c of your pveing, but b/c you have what alliance full have DVDF tags, and the awesome job you guys do at events. SMS - I beileve that we (Racthoh, Trub, and Rob + 5 heros) were the first to kill Mallyx without using the door glitch. I also enjoy the grab and go pveing. KaiZ - Karlos created epic lulz on guru and his title "Master of Mallyx" |

ask the same question on other fan forums or in game and you'll find that most people don't know GoE, TAM, LaZy, GR and the others mentioned here. DVDF and SMS may be questionable, but still not well-known.
If you're talking about well-known on GWG, then it's SMS & DVDF definitely. |

I think most people do know LaZy. Especially if you ask in the more advanced levels of the game (not DoA and stuff, but just later in the storyline). They're pretty much all over the place.

I agree with Earth, I'm pretty sure almost everyone who PvE's has seen someone in LaZy at least once in their time playing.

I think a more interesting question is who are the most well known PvE players?

SMS by a landslide. A guild that has Racthoh, Oreo and Rob is pure win. I'm sure I forget a few.
And Racthoh is the most famous pve player probably, by making those horrible UW farming guides in the past <3. And of course, Lady Blue Steel made him/herself famous by naming a guild after him/herself. It's hard to really stand out as a pve player though, hard for me to see. The others I'm pondering about if I know them... DVDF - is this one of the AB playing guilds? I heard the tag named several times before, but frankly I don't know them. |
