Some help please
Hey I just got the game(prophecies campaign) a few weeks ago and have been playing a bit. Anyway I like to play by myself most of the time, but that is not working anymore. I am at the ice gate instance with a lvl 13 char and I can typically get through most of it, but when I get to the part were I have to crank the lever I just get owned(have tried about five times). the henchmen are lvl 8, and they don't do much to help. So to my question, what is the best way to get a party together? the in game search feature does not seem to be used at all and other than clicking on every person and asking them to join i do not see any way of getting a party.
I looked at the guilds but most of them seem to be more endgame and pvp oriented, any advice? or do you know of a guild that might do what I want to do? Anyway games a lot of fun if a bit challenging. |

have u tried readin up on wiki yet for mission help?
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Frost_Gate for henchies, try: war, war, ranger, ele, monk or war, ranger, ele, mes, monk to find a pug, try switchin to different districts (american ad1, and euro ed1 would be the first ones to try) as for guilds, try aksin around in old ascalon Last edited by snaek; May 14, 2008 at 04:13 AM // 04:13.. |

Yea I looked on the wiki and it got me a little further but I still seem to get crushed at the same spot. Is it me or are the henchmen a little underleveled?

teh proph henchies r pretty bad
the nf/eotn ones arent so bad i think its kind of intended that u should be groupin wit other ppl in proph in factions, teh henchies improve, so its less of a requirement and in nf, they give u heroes, so its not a requirement at all but yea, jus try on at different times it can be kinda random when ppl will show up in teh lesser populated areas |

The "cranking the lever" part is right at the end - one lever, three different sites. Each lever site has a guard of 3 or 4 dwarfs, each time you activate a lever, a new patrol comes a-running.
It's all a matter of agro control and careful pulling - it will come with practice. If all else fails, go back and complete any unfinished quests you have in your log, or wail on some lower level cratures (not below level 8 though) - until you get another level or two. Even though you are a W/Mo, get yourself a long or flatbow - not for damage; for pulling enemies to where you want to fight them. This ensures you only fight manageable amounts of enemies. Don't use [[frenzy] and [[heal sig] at the same time - I know you get them free at the start of the game, but in combination, they kill you quicker than anything else in the game

You didn't specify, so it should be asked: have you upgraded your armor at all since leaving presearing? The extra 25 defense helps a ton in staying afloat.

after the cutscene, you will be standing in the gate near the first lever. there'll be one group coming to your direction, kill that group when they are near you already so you wont aggro the other group guarding the lever.
when you've done with that group, take down the ones guarding the lever and then STAY in that spot. Don't go directly to the next lever. Wait there. There'll be some patrols going to your direction, take them down on your spot. Keep doing that until all the patrols are down (i think there'll be three patrols if i remember right). This is the hard part because when you engage the patrol next to the next lever, you won't have enough time to kill everything until the next patrol come to your spot. Then, take down the group guarding the next lever. Then, take down the third lever. |

Another way to do it is to send your hench in as a distraction then quickly turn all 3 cranks then run away and wait for the cut scene.

Hey all thanks for the great advice, the guild wars community is awesome. Oh and thanks Snograt, but I must have logged off after you got on. Anyway I waited around and eventually a group of folks was about to leave and let me tag along. sheesh there was this lvl 20 dude that was a mage and he was two hitting the critters, and I though I was supposed to be the tank. Oh and I will try out the long bow Idea. I did up grade my armor to the ascelon with a 50 rating plus 20% vs physical and I have a few runes on them as well
