About treasure hunter.
So i want to go and max treasure hunter, but naturally i want to do it in the most economic way possible, since it is quite an expensive title. So i have several options. (currently at r3 chest, r0 lucky)
1. just start running lockpicks HM boreal station from the start till max. Most likely not the best one. 2. get a certain tier of lucky, then start running lockpicks on boreal station till max. I would think tier 2 is the best for this (87.893 points needed for me), it gives you an additional 4% retain chance. The tables on wiki say that achieving tier 2 will take on average 87893/3454= about 25,5 hours, and about 89k. Do you think i will get that 89k out later on the extra retain rate? 3. open different types of highend chests first (with lockpicks or normal keys??), like the 600g chests, then swap to lockpicks on HM later. Questions here are: will i use picks or normal keys, and when is it best to swap? 4. another method? Please share Thanks in advance for taking the time to look at my problem, math has never been my strong point, so any help i can get would be awesome. I only use Lockpicks to open chests, unless i get other keys dropped from foes. I used to run HM chest only but my retain rate was crap. Even though i had rank 6 treasure and rank 5 (Golden) from lucky.
Last few weeks i'm running NM chest in Gyla Hatchery and Withmans Folly (or something like this ). My current rate of breaking keys is around 1lp per 6-7. Sometimes even more. I'm getting 45% gold drops/runes (have gotten alot of sup Monk and sup vigor runes (most ran in Withmans). If you sell all your gold drops (not the runes) you would only loose like 30K every 100K lp you spent. As soon as your lucky title is rank 3+ you could make money out of it. In the beginning it will cost you allot of money. Try to boost your lucky title by standing on nine rings during a weekend. you should be able to get 200K+ lucky points. |

If you're buying lockpicks at 1.25k, you actually require 12% bonus from titles for the lockpicks to be more economical than standard keys. Acquire this before switching to lockpicks.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/User...urvival_chance ^bold shows where it is not economical. It's reasonably easy to work out the best way to go; "Golden" lucky costs 882.4k (http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Luck_titles_guide) This increases your retention rate by 10% Effectively meaning you save a key every 10 uses, so "save" 1/10th of the cost, say 125g assuming 1.25k buy price. 882,400/125= 7,059 lockpick uses for Golden title to become cost-effective. As you still have more chest than that to open points, it's economical for you to get Golden first. I crunched the numbers rather excessively on my userpage; http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/User...al_Mode_chests HTH |
