What Is The Deal With Elonian Treasure? - Guild Wars Forums

I'm on about the treasure that doesn't require a key to open, and "apparently" resets every month starting on the day you complete the last NF mission. I waited 1 month since I completed the last mission & tried opening the first treasure I'd ever come across... Empty. I then waited another month... Empty.

Now I've just tried again for the 3rd time (after waiting another month) and guess what... Empty.

What's the deal with these things? Is there anything special I need to do?

For whatever reason(s), it varies account to account. Mine open like clockwork; others guildies have the same bad luck you do waiting month after month for a reset.

I had the same problem when I first started opening them. Then I started waiting about 45 days from the last time any character on my account has touched a treasure. Now I have been able to open them every time for over a year. I don't think it goes by the last time you got something from the treasure but last time you touched a treaure. It might also be by account but not positive.

I've noticed it works for me every 32 days. After that time, every character can open the chests scattered throughout Elona.

Well... I had 6-8 chars through nightfall when the treasure things appeared in-game. Others are (still lol) at least up to vabbi. I spent all day taking my chars to every one of them. Made a nice amount of money (45kish+some r9 golds). A while later, when people found out they reset I of course ran all my chars to them again. Monthly ritual for about 3 months maybe. Somewhere around my third time I noticed I was not getting any gems, good golds (actually mostly purple), and getting less gold.

I havent touched them in a while- if I remember after work I might try to do a complete treasure run with one of my chars. Ill try and post back here if I get anything good. But otherwise Ive given up on it as its not worth the time anymore... no wisdom pts D:

Same thing with my characters. Once each one of my toons had opened them up 3-4 times I noticed a significant drop in the value of items each one provided. As such, I haven't bothered with them in several months. 400g and a non-max Req 10 isn't worth the effort of getting to them when regular high-end chests can provide far better value.

One thing though, is it normal to get the exact same gold staff from one chest every time I do open it? The chest I'm referring to is the "Treasure Chest" in Mehtani Keys. I've opened it 3-4 times with 3 different characters and aside from the gold that drops from it, I always end up with a Req 10 Portal Staff (Inherent HSR 17%, max damage, enchant20% and energy +5^50).

After a while, more grapes dropped then golds so I stopped going for them. My guildie's treasure chests seemed to not reset even after months so he stopped too.

I've given up on them also. The first couple of times I got great things out of them, but ever since then I get very low amounts of gold and all grapes. In the amount of time it takes to open them all with all of my characters, I could have made far more money doing almost anything else.

The first & second run I did with one toon yielded approx 20k + gems & golds. Third month I got only grapes, and approx 10k. Left it for about 4 months, did another chest run, got less than 10k & no golds :/

Another toon is doing it every month, a mixture between golds & purples & approx 15k each run.

So I dunno... randomness? lol I guess some toons are just more lucky than others

Mine reset every month on the nose, but now I only get 1/4 - 1/2 the cash I did the first time I ran those chests and I mostly get purple drops, when at first I got all golds/gems.

No one knows how they really work, but I think I used them up!

dunno, I just opened mine after about 6 months of not opening them, every single one gave me a grape and 700ish gold. Weak!

it seems really random. like a lot of people I did the ritual of hitting all of them with each of my characters, however last round several of my characters couldn't open the chests, I know all of my characters opened them within a 12 hour period yet some could access them this time and others couldn't. it's really odd

They reset 30 days from the day your last character touched a chest.

Ah, that makes some sense Carinae. There have been so many topics about this that it's hard to find out where the speculation is and where the facts are.

Looks like I'll do a chest run in late June then

As above from the day you opened them you do not have to finish NF at all
just open them as you come across them for the first time even nub islands 2 treasures.

I find on my chars they reset every 29 to 35 days but all i get are grapes now unless you re-roll a slot lol.

the more you open them the more they depreciate. The first time you open will always give you the best drops, and they get steadily less awesome from thereon in...
