you have to have a second profession, even if you don't use it.
after completing the quest, you can get access to cho's estate to get the mission. |

You need to do 'A Formal Introduction' to get into the Mission outpost (Minister Cho's Estate).
I believe you are trying to get into the explorable of the Estate, yes? From Ran Masu Garderns? That's the wrong way, you need to go to the outpost of the same name - Minister Cho's Estate. |

And Factions gets difficult rather quickly. Instead of getting impatient it'd probably be best if you do all of the quests in that part of the island first (both the proffession tryout quests and the dozen or so others scattered around the Monastery, Kinya Province and Panjiang Peninsula) before you do Minister Cho's Estate. Those quests can easily get you up to level 12-14, making the mission a lot easier. |

well, i still a fair bit to learn, and have done any quests / missions I've seen scattered around the place, so after doing the 2nd profession quests, and so far a couple of ranger trainer training at the dojo, i did the minister cho estate one and finished , by speaking to a guard, and that was, it I'm taken to a cho estate court yard where there was just a couple only of players also there, , but at the estate, i find that u can only come and go thru senqua portal, the other is still blocked by a gate, and when i portal to go check on ram musu gardens, thats still blocked by a gate, so do i just complete the rest of the ranger training missions, for the ranger insignia thing, im lv 9 ????

I may have misunderstood and if so I apologize - but it sounds like you got to the estate but did not actually do the mission itself.
Now that you are in Minister Cho's estate it sounds like you still need to do the mission itself. While in the estate look at your part panel - there is a button that says enter mission - click that and the mission itself will begin. The portal from the estate courtyard will remain blocked following the mission (the only way to enter from there is the enter mission buttone) but the portal to ran musu garden (I assume you mean the one from Kinya Province) should open and you will be able to access the estate explorable from there. |

yes i have done most of the ranger , insignia quests, im having a little trouble getting thru the last one, even with my pet, even tho he still lv 6 while im lv 9 was hoping he'd be same level to be able to do the last ranger thing, gad, lol theyre healing making a very long time to beat them both i get one down to half health, died twice attempting the last one think its called chaning or caning something like, but im going to get it done one way or another, ,sigh no mater how long it takes,i guess i should try and get better bow from some where? might help ?
now about cho's estate, i now have the travel button on my map the quest i thought i was doing was this, after meeting cho out ching shea with the other fellow, we traveled to his estate entrance, killing a couple of lv 1 -2 beasts along the way there we meet with the guard, there was a short movie clip, after that finished a info window popped up saying my group will be moved to another area, ( i still had a formed henchman team with me) that's might've been why i stuffed up the the mission somewhere, did i ?? i cant spk to anyone anymore, i really wanted to do it, something about a black shadow figure coming n going sending everyone mad, so is it not do able, if i stuffed it up some where, can someone tell me where and what i should've done instead thank u |

have completed cho estate quest, and was sent to finish in musu gardens, thank u all for your help, but have found i can do the same quest repeatedly, ??
but gets some unusual drops each time i do, and what i think are nice shields, i grabbed a quest called lost treasure, and grabbed a henchmen team for that just in case thats when i found the cho's estate quest is still in quest log so untill i do the next part which is warn a village about the plague, i will be able to keep doing it , i guess oh just a side note for ogre, while i may have seemed Impatient, i would've thought more frustrated, but anyway, i do not believe i bought the wrong game, i find it very challenging, with learning what to, i guess it was the farming remark, what ever it was, my next exp will be eye of the north, soon as i receive it, thank you anway |

Welcome to GW. Factions was my first game as well and it's still the one I enjoy the best (although most others feel differently).
Don't be afraid to take the quest reward for Minister's Cho's Estate. I think that is a primary quest so you will probably need to complete it before moving on. If you enjoy repeating the mission, you can. Quests are not repeatable (most aren't anyways) but missions are different. You can do missions as many times as you wish and most folks will repeat them a few times. Your overall goal for the missions in Factions will be to achieve "masters". It's not necessary for the gameplay, just a side goal to work on if you are interested in that. Missions that have been completed with masters will show 3 swords thru the mission town icon. There are 13 missions scattered thru the factions campaign. Zen Daijun is the next one that you'll come across, but you will need to complete a few more quests before getting there. Don't feel rushed to speed thru the campaign. It's always more fun the first time thru. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. You sound like your character is progressing well and you'll gradually learn all the tips and tricks that the seasoned player knows. If you have questions, whisper me ingame. If i'm not kneedeep in monster corpses, I'll answer. |

As to being frustrated - that is very understandable. this is a very good game but has one of the lousiest players manuals I have ever seen. It gives almost no instructions on how to play the game and I suspect a lot of new players leave simply because Anet didn't bother to tell them the basics. |
