Default Arrows hit where?

I've been trying to find information on this, and have been unsuccessful. What I'm trying to find out is which armor piece arrows are most likely to hit. And also, which armor piece is most likely to be hit by the fire damage from Ignite Arrows.

From http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Armor:

Each body location has a certain probability to be struck by damage. As crafting material requirements (from the same crafter) for armors of different body locations always have a fixed ratio, rumor has it that this ratio also correspond to the relative probabilities of each body location being struck by damage.

The five body locations and their "crafting material percentages" are:

* Head - 12.5% (1/8)
* Chest - 37.5% (3/8)
* Hands - 12.5% (1/8)
* Legs - 25% (2/8)
* Feet - 12.5% (1/8)

Those numbers change slightly depending on your elevation relative to your target. Nonprojectile attacks always hit the chest.

Most hits are randomised by percentage. Probabilities: head, hands, and feet are 1/8th each , legs are 28ths, chest is 3/8ths

Some skills have a set hit location though: so concussing shot, meteor, and decapitate will hit the head, body blow will hit the chest, most earth magic will hit the feet, etc.

I do think the type of bow affects hit location too though; flatbow has higher probability of hitting head due to higher arc of fire.

Two questions, one answer: the chest

Height above target skews from feet toward head, and vice versa for down below, but in general, the chest is where the pincushion is.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that arrows couldn't hit Gloves but I do not know for sure if it is true. Wouldn't be hard to prove either way though with a quick testing session.

It's been fixed AFAIK.

Eh, why do I get the impression that this is just player-made mythology?

Probably because that information is nowhere else, and he probably didnt test it before posting. I also guess he pulled it out of his ass.

Melee attacks always hit the chest? Are you serious? I'm pretty sure that's not right.

You're right, I should have been a little more clear. Most spells that directly hit a player without a projectile, like deathly swarm, hit the chest. There are exceptions, though. Lightning strike, for example, doesn't always hit the chest. All physical attacks follow the normal scheme.

Sorry I have to question how true is this statement. I did a quick test with skales outside fishermen's haven and deathly swarm does hit locations besides the chest.

From what I know EVERY attack has the same % to hit parts of armor. That includes all non projectile spells and untargeted attacks. The only thing I don't know about is the effect of elevation. There were a few bugs in the past with certain attacks (for example, spells never hit hands) but these were fixed.
