'Moving' .dat file - Guild Wars Forums

Would it be possible to copy the gw .dat file onto a DVD, then, once the basic GW is on a new pc, place the dat file in the right place without having to -image etc?
I can't see a reason for it not to, but maybe there is?

yeah my husband does it all the time to defrag the dang file (just tooo big for the drive he has it on--) so he moves, defrags, moves it again....no problems.
