My guild usually has about 6-8 people online atm, now that a lot of exams are over and some US schools are out. We have a policy that if a member isnt online for 2 weeks without telling anyone why then they get kicked.

Twilight Angels currently has around 70 members, 40 active daily. Everyone is at least monthly active. Our alliance guilds are around the same size, I believe. I'll take a screenshot when I go home for lunch today.

Oh, I'm jealous of LOD! Our roster was full, but then we kicked everyone who had been gone for more than 3 weeks. It's smaller but we have a much sexier activity rate this way. :P
I think removing leadership after 2 or 3 days of inactivity seems a bit harsh. Most of us have lives outside of GW, too. Frequently people will go on business trips or vacations. They post a message on our forum so we are aware of where they are. Then we don't kick. |

My guild is fairly small, but admittedly over half the members are RL friends. We're also fairly casual, so only a few of us are daily players. I just wish I could figure out how to recruit a few more active players, we're too small for most people, but since people leave or won't join, we stay too small.
Doesn't help that we started an alliance with a guild that went dead shortly afterwards. I generally won't kick anyone till 3 months of inactivity, but as we grow I'm sure that could change. We also generally promote most people to officers after about a week. |

Well, I always wanted to be in a guild and I finally did get in one. Little did I know that I would be the only one on in my guild for most of the time. My own guild.

My guild has its core - the people who play together all the time, who have relatively first dibs on spots for stuff like GvG/FoW/URGOZZZZZ.
We roll with 11 officers, and 70 members, and Mini! At any given time, about 6 officers and 20 members are online. Sometimes, like big weekend events such as lockpick drops, we get numbers around 30-50 online. Then I get overwhelmed by Guild chat. Medium sized guilds with core membership > huge guilds with lots of anonymous people. The problem is in a huge guild with 1000 alliance members is that there'll be 20 or so who are familiar, and the rest are rank-and-file. TAM's got a lot of team play, which is hawt. We do make fun of Lulu and Loki though. Also - officership in guilds with stable membership is important. I'm an officer in my guild, but I've found our leader's promotion methods to be effective. It's based on maturity, compatibility, experience, and overall coordination. Also, how well you can do late-night be-drunk-and-chat-on-vent-while-playing-sessions is important. |

I don't know how many accounts in SMS are secondaries, but we usually roll with 2-3/8 officers on and 5-10 members at good hours out of 40sh. I never play at peak hours though, and they're all on within the week.
