Help on Recruiting members
I kind of in a delima, or maybe I'm just making too much of it. So I need some advice on "recruiting" for my GW guild.
I have been an member of a "gaming" clan for over 5 years. The clan itself is ~10 years old and is comprised of "mature" individuals, meaning we are are all older, have jobs, childrens, etc. The clan originally started as a Diablo/Starcraft clan and has played lots of different games over the years. Since I've been with these people for so long, I made some good friends and don't want to leave the "clan". The clan is fully established, we have a websited, forums our own TS server. Just nobody but me plays GW. The current draw of the clan is "WoW" of course. I played WoW for about a year or so and enjoyed it, but it doesn't fit into my lifestyle. I'm on the road quite a bit because of my job and when I'm home I have family that takes up my time. I've been playing GW since release with a momentary lapse when Factions came out. (And the year I tried WoW myself) When GW first started, we had a handful of active players. And we had an GW guild setup with a hall. But slowly they have drifted away for that "other" game and that GW guild folded. Since my own resurgance, I've created a new GW guld, and have tried to get my clan mates interested. But its pretty sporadic. So basically I want to recruit some "outside" members into the GW guild, but I am concerned that they will see the list of current members and how inactive they are and will not be impressed. Another issue I have is my work. There are times I'm on the road for weeks at a time. And depending on the hotel's internet connection, I might not be in game over that period. So any advice on how I should proceed to "recruit" new members? Thanks for the help, |

Honestly, I think you would be better off just joining an established guild given your situation. Running a guild and keeping it active takes a lot of effort, and really all you get for starting your own guild is the responsibility for all that activity. There is nothing wrong with just being a member and playing the game - I am not sure why so many people feel they have to start a new guild.
