Default Choosing New Character

i was just wondering on some of your advice on choosing a new profession. I have all 3 campaigns including eotn(so yea i can run ursan...) and i currently have these professions already...

Warrior
Dervish
Necro
Monk
Assassin
Elementalist
Mesmer

currently leaving me with 1 free slot to choose a ranger, ritualist, or a paragon. i dont use credit cards so i cannot buy extra slots. i dont pvp much, more of a pve guy, but occasionally i do play against other humans. i dont want to make a character for just farming a spot in uw, i also would like to be able to go out and do missions, vanquish, etc. cool looking armor is also a small factor in choosing a profession. this is my order of importance of the factors that will influence my decision

1. Fun to Play
2. Versatility(PvE, PvP)
3. Cool looking armor/weapons

Personally I find Paragons get increasingly boring over time, I can hardly stand to play mine anymore. As for Rangers, they have great versatility, my Ranger was my first character and I still love to play him. They are great for shutting down and dealing damage. Ritualists are mediocre in my opinion. They have decent healing and decent damage, but it's easy to find classes that out match them. I have been using a Ritualist lately, but that's only because I have a Rt/R bow build I want to try out. I would suggest you read up on each class, check out their skills, and find which one you think you would enjoy most. As for me, it would come down to the Ranger or the Ritualist.

My vote goes for Ranger. Much more fun, and many more things to do with them compared to the Paragon or Rit. If you don't want a Ranger, I'd say go for a Rt, since they're fun too ^_^

That's an excellent choice. Rangers are easily the most versatile class in the game.

Ranger all the way!! Fun to play, versatile, can play many different roles, you get to have pets, and they can do massive damage.

Hate to seem like a bandwagoner, but I find Ranger to be the most enjoyable class. There's nothing better than using Burning Arrow and Apply Poison and killing half an enemy RA team.

based on the criteria you gave
1 ranger
2 rit---they can do both killing and healing.
3. cool looking weapons.....uhm...cool armor....that would be mesmer and you have one of those....or warrior for the weapons...so on this one I would say--none.

tbh, no prof is fun in pve. (IMO)
but i'd say mesmer as useal, its not as useful as most others in pve.
but its always the most fun, and u learn all the other professions so much easier if u can play a mesmer.

Ranger?
By far the most versatile profession in the game. You ought to have one. I enjoy mine mostly in pvp but it's cool in pve as well.

Personally I found my ranger pretty boring after a while because I ended up just sitting there going [Barrage]....[Barrage]....[Barrage]....[Barrage]....

I would personally say Ritualist, but I find spirits quite amusing. The general person would probably go Ranger.

If thats all you're doing, then you are doing it wrong.

I vote rangers too. They are fun to run as interrupt or traps.

Did you read the whole post? I really don't think so, please read before you answer...

Anyway I agree you have to have ranger, and it does have cool looking weapons, bows are great and with ranger you can use them for dmg, not just pulling

RANGER: Interrupts, pressure, spike, and survivability all wrapped up in one great profession.

AND you get Expertise, too.

Well you should really try out ever profession.

Ritualists can be a great deal of fun in both PvP and PvE.

Personally I find rangers have far to limited builds/uses for my liking, and I've played a ranger for 3 years on and off.

Most ranger builds roll around either A) interupts, B) Barrage or C) traps....while they do have plenty of builds most of them are weak when compared to what other profs bring to the field.
