A Couple Questions Before I Buy
If I were to pick up the Platinum Edition that comes with Guild Wars and Eye of the North, will that allow me access to everything? What about Nightfall and Factions, what were those and are those also included in this package?
Will I need anything else other than the Platinum? Thanks in advance |

Guild Wars Platinum Edition only includes Prophecies and EotN. Factions and Nightfall you have to buy separately.

So will I have to buy Platinum, Factions and Nightfall in order to play? or do I even need to buy Factions or Nightfall at all?

It comes only with Prophecies and Eye of the North.
You'll have to buy Factions and Nightfall separtely. |

Id say get the platinum edition and see if you like it, Factions and Nightfall just have extra content, new storylines/items/heros/elite areas/skills.
If you do enjoy it and decide to buy Factions and Nightfall, they arent like normal expansions in other games, they are as big content wise as EOTN or Prophecies. You could go so far as to say they are individual games as you can play either of them without Prophecies. |

Here's the full story.
First came Prophecies, initially known simply as Guild Wars. Then came Guild Wars: Factions Then came Guild Wars: Nightfall. That is where the series ends. Each chapter is a separate game in it's own right, none of them require either of the other two to play. Basically, the more chapters you own, the more content you have - story, missions, quests, skills, armor designs - the list goes on. Eye of the North is a special case. It is an expansion which requires that you own one of the above chapters in order to play. Now the pointless filler bit, because I'm bored: You can own:-

Thanks for the info, I'll probably pick up Platinum for now.
If I decide to later get another Campaign, which one is considered better/more fun by most, Factions or Nightfall? |

Nightfall; more heroes
People will disagree - it's a preference thing.

I'd have to straddle the fence on that one and say both Prophecies and Nightfall. Prophecies for the storyline and Nightfall for the heroes. Like Snograt stated, "it's a preference thing".

Am I the only person who loved factions...for me its the best of the 3 the style rocks, Fast leveling, and great character models to pick from XD.
Only 1 i didn't really like was prophecies. Plan to beat the other 2 I already finished factions twice. about 2/3 way into nightfall. |

But it does make your Guild Wars experience much more enjoyable. I like going from continent to continent to play the different campaigns.
Of course, Eye of the North's Storyline is quite fun, too. |
