Best way to salvage Jewels from items
I assume trying to salvage jewels from jeweled daggers is a crap shoot? I've heard the "hit" rate is pretty low.
I've got a few (jeweled weapons) and i'm trying to collect as many rubies and sapphire as I can (the cheap/free way). Any input is appreciated. |

Try and get some "highly salvagable" inscriptions to place on them before you salvage - this increases the hitrate for obtaining rare crafting materials instead of normal crafting materials.
EDIT: Beaten to the punch |

The best way of collecting rubies and sapphires is probably dungeon end chests.
Salvaging jeweled weapons will yield very very few gems if any at all. Might end up spending more in salvages kits the=an you would on just buying the gems from the trader |

After salvaging a lot of stuff and keeping an eye on yields, I can give the following advice:
Collectables (geodes, ether hearts, djinn essences): not worth the effort Equipment without Measure for Measure (MfM) inscription: not worth the effort Diamond Aegis: not worth the effort (salvaged less than 5 so far, got 1 diamond) Ruby Maul with MfM: 15% Ruby, 3% 2 Rubies, rest Granite Slabs Ruby Daggers with MfM: 15% Ruby, 3% 2 Rubies, rest Piles of Dust Jeweled Daggers with MfM: 75% Ruby or Sapphire, 5% 2 Rubies or Sapphires, rest Piles of Dust Hence, collect MfMs and put them to Jeweled Daggers before salvaging for a very good yield of gemstones. |

I just wanted to post/check with the forum before I wasted time and kits. Thanks all. |

1. Where do Jeweled Daggers drop most? 2. Can MfM inscriptions be stacked in storage or do they each require their own slot? |

I have had great luck with measure for measure and jeweled daggers.
A really nice place to farm jeweled daggers is Mirror of Lyss. You can 600 /smite the entire map in HM. This thread got me intersted in salvaging stuff like Geode, Ancient Lodstone, Diamond Djinn Essences, Sapphire Djinn Essences, Ruby Djinn Essences, and Roaring Ether Heart. I have had a bunch of these in storage because someone told me lucky and treasure helped get gems out of these, but couldn't find anything to back it up, so decided to see what I would get. Results are as follows.
Cost to salvage all these was 4,800 gold in expert salvage kit. Profitable but you would have to salvage a large quantity before you saw any return. Last edited by R.Shayne; Jul 22, 2008 at 07:11 PM // 19:11.. |
