Kurzik / Luxon line of battle.
Just entered the Factions phase of the campaign, where I had to choose a side. (Chose the Kurzick faction, after a good bit more thought into the choice than I expected to give thought too. Felt weird... =oO=;;; )
Anywho, I've read much of the two Guild wikis concerning the Kurzick-Luxon 'war' and it's aspects, but I just want clarification on two iotas that probably should be obvious. 1. The Blue-Red territory line. Is this a result of all the PvP faction battles and points being spent, that affects where the line shifts? I keep seeing 'pockets' where I presume are cities, that I haven't reached yet. Just need word on what really affects this. 2. Cities that are 'owned' by a certain Guild-Alliance. 'Is' it a Guild or an overall alliance that owns that city/outpost/ect, and 'how' does it become owned? Not sure of this, since I see the gawd awful number of points that a team/ect. owns said cities. (One at a time I presume.) 3. Alluding to #2, does the possibility exist of an outpost, up to a major city, Luxon or vise versa, being formally controlled by the other side? I'd presume not likely, due to the points of a said owned 'city' or whatnot, but since this also sorta alludes to question #1, I wonder if it were ever possible, however nigh impossible, for one side to dominate the other utterly. (I've read too many military books, sorry. =^^= ) 4. Does the choice of being on the Kurzick side now, make exploring the Jade Sea, and being in Luxon towns, in PvE, impossible now? (I.e. being attacked outright if I enter a Luxon town, while mapping everything for the Cantha Cartographer title. Just wanted some clarifications. Thanks to all that answer moi succinctly. Sorry if this thread belonged in another section of the Forums. (Also probably means I need to be outside more.) |

1) certain cities cannot be captured by the enemy so they are left as the color of their faction but are surrounded by the other color. The line moves as a result of who is winning the most alliance battles at that moment in time.
2) You own a town by having a high amount of faction donated to your alliance. You can donate faction by talking to the kurz/lux rep in your guild hall 3) Yes the other side can control a city from the opposing side however only if it is inside their faction line and usually the control doesn't last long. 4) You can still go to the luxon area however to move further in that area you have to gain 10k luxon faction (same as you do for the kurzicks) which can be difficult for some people. |

1 yes its a result of pvp, there are certain cities that are not able to be swayed.
2 its a guild (which may be part of an alliance). 3 the line will shift and there is an order to which cities shift (here is a list of those http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Alliance_Faction) 4 you can go to any city, however, you will not be able to speak to the merchant in a city who alliance is to the other faction...you will still be able to go to the collectors and storage.
