Ecto Degenerating
Okay, so ofcourse I bought a ton of ectos while the Perma sins were farming. And then ANet/GW nerfed that and brought the Ectos up to 4.5k And then dropped them to 3.9k Again, and now they're at like, 3.6k. So, whats keeping the ectos down ? terras ?

There is a new build in use, but this one only uses degeneration from Burning Speed, with Frigid Armour as a counter against the burning.

Yeah, although ectos have been steady at that price since the change (3.5-4k) so i think ectos have their new stability point and they wont nerf shadow from again.
I suppose the only reason they would have to change shadow form is to satisfy those people complaining that the only SF build that works now is the UW one, due to the nerf. |

PermaSF Sins aren't the only builds that can farm Ectos...
I farm them solo on my Warrior, I dual farm them on my Necro (can solo farm them if I'm REALLY careful), and Terras can farm them as well... It's not BUILDS that are keeping the price of Ecto down, it's the fact that the game has been around for 3 years... When Obsidian Armor really was Elite Armor, Ectos went for 13k. Now, a very sizable chunk of the GW player base has at least 1 toon with Obby Armor, I know people who have multiple chars with Obby Armor. The economy in GW is dying down, because people already have what they need or want... you can't have an economy which is based on supply and demand when the supply is insanely high due to long-term farming... |

Less and less players are interested in ecto as 'shadow currency' because the value is unstable. Why would I trade for 100K + 10e when those 10e can be worth half their value tomorrow? And with the perma craze everyone could have farmed obsi armor for themselfs. So less demand there. Ecto's are an investment and only worth what people are willing to pay for it. |

As for the topic, Shadow Form should be reverted to its original state. Looking at the way things turned out they, I think ANet wanted to dual-kill Raptors and other Perma farms so they gave themselves an excuse to do so. A/E Planes farmer would die if they reverted it and now the A/Me that could still run it won't be able to do Planes even as close to as effectively with Hex Breaker. |
