I looked but couldn't find a post on this topic per se. I'm kind of dumb with some computer stuff so I need help with this. I"m trying to upload an avatar but I'm not sure how to get one. I saw that you can browse on your computer and upload one that way, I just don't know where to get a pic. I see a lot of avatars that are skills/elite skills and I think that would be cool. I know this is kind of a noob question but can someone help me out? Thanks in advance.

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

Step 1: Find an avatar you like and make sure it is appropriate for this site

Step 2: Upload it on an image hosting site (Such as ImageShack)

http://www.imageshack.us/

Step 3: Go to User CP/Edit Avatar and paste the URL under "Enter Avatar URL:" and hit "Save Changes"

There you go you have your own avatar uploaded.

Just Google avatars and you'll get a bunch of results. Don't forget this forum gives you a choice of avatars. They are basic Guild Wars icons under "Edit Avatar"

To add to Sir Seifus' post, you can also upload an avatar that is saved on your computer.

At the same User CP/Edit Avatar screen is a Browse function to find the file.

If you want a in game SS then you can take one then crop it down to 100 x100 and you have made your own.
