How Long to 20 and move to other campaigns?
How long does it normally take to get to Lv. 20 in Factions, Nightfall, and Prophecies? Also, when will characters be able to visit a different campaign, based on originating in each one? I ask because I want to get armor sets that are available in only certain campaigns, but I might make a character in a different campaign (either due to restriction or hating appearance options).
Thanks |

I'm not sure how long it takes, but I think that in Factions you can get to level 20 the fastest, followed by nightfall, then prophecies.

You don't have to look at time.... just make something that looks nice... like ele's of tyria have a nicer haircut than factions and tyria has no assassin so... don't rush enjoy the game

It takes like 3 months to get lvl 20 in factions, 4 months in NF and no less than an year in tyria

That's not true. It takes as long as you're willing to spend. There is no set time.

kind of depends on which campaign you start in, and what your play-style/skill level is.
Most posts say that 3-5 hours starting in Factions is doable. But, unless you like the look of the starting toons in Factions, you may need to take the time to: a) buy a run from Ascalon to Lion's Arch in Prophecies; b) do the (painfully) necessary grind in Nightfall to get to the Consulate Docks (you can buy a run to the Docks and get max armor, but it won't let you get off the frakking island!); c) get to level 10 and enter GWEN and get some armor there. Don't know what armor you're after, but the fastest is Factions, followed by Nightfall. |

Factions is the fastest for lvling. You can have a level 20 in factions in a few hours easily.
If you are starting from factions you want to get to Kaineng center for travel to other continents. Kaineng is also where your factions max armor will come from. Kamadan is the Nightfall city that you will arrive at first and 500g will buy you a ferry to the consulate docks for your nf armor. For Prophecies armor, when you arrive in Lion's Arch, you want to look for runs to Beacon's Perch (500g)and from there to Droknar's Forge (2k) for the max armor for that campaign. Starting a char in Prophecies will take the most time to leveling. I wouldn't recommend starting from Nightfall as you will soon find you are required to grind out promotion points just to progress the story line (something I detest) |

Getting lvl 20 In Presearing Prophecies will net you the title; Legendary Defender of Ascalon and a kewl looking stature in the HoM.
This will take you over 3 months and Lots of deaths. As for getting to the other chapters I do not know other than GW:EN you must be lvl 10 as there is a buff provided. |

Even doing all the quests and farming the SS bounties to max in each region you can hit 20 within 24 hours of game time in Nightfall. I would guess in Factions it will be similar; Prophs on the other hand is very slow to level but does offer an easier learning curve, imho.

Most of the above is true. Doing quests is the fastest way to level up. I am going to let you in on a secret, take your time. Learn the class you are playing. When players try and rush through the game we end up with level 20's that have no clue how to play the class or what skills work best in what instances. Personally I would rather take a level 18 over a level 20, if the level 18 had a great skill bar and knew how to do it's job, over a clueless level 20.

The problem with your question is that the answer is relative to the amount of time spent just working a character. Most people socialize, do some quests/missions (sometimes repeatedly? when bad builds or teams), try to sell stuff to get money to improve starting armor/weapons so character can die less often and so forth.
This adds to the time required. I have a two-year-old Prophecies Necro and a 1-1/2 year-old NF ele who aren't level 20 yet.

It depends upon how much time you have, per day, to play, but generally speaking you can get a character up to level 20 in less than a week in Factions and Nightfall. Prophecies has a much longer leveling curve than the others.

reaching level 20:
factions is the fastest for this, if you do all of the quests and such you should be very close to that level by the time you can leave the starter island...from there is a quick run up to Kaineng for max armor (and the place you can leave from to other chapters). nightfall is probably 2nd on this and the same applies---by the time you leave the starter island you should be close if not over max level (all of my characters who started in nightfall made it to level20 before that got off the island)...to leave you must get to consulate docks where there is max armor, but if max armor is all you want the run suggested above will get you there for 500g. prophecies has the slowest xp curve....after you leave pre-searing most are about level 8 or so....you travel thru kryta and into the desert and still may not be level 20 by the time you ascend.....with my first character this took a month or so....the spot you can leave for other chapters is LA in kryta....the first max armor is dorknars forge (you can get run there as well from one of the spots in the northern shiverpeaks, but it costs more than 500g). hope this answers all of your questions.

Getting max armor and getting to other campaigns Nightfall is the fastest. Soon as you create a character and do the first little mini-mission you are in Kamadan. There are ferry's to the consulate docks and you can get max armor there. From there you can get ferry'd to Factions or Prophesies (KC or LA). KC you can get max Factions armor.

My record is 3 1/2 hours to get to lvl 20. I started out in Factions, got ferried to KC, then leveled to lvl 10, went to Gunnar's Hold in EOTN, bought scrolls and did Kilroy Stoneskin over and over again.
It's a good way to level fast. I've done it several times. |

Well, if you don't want to take a long time to get to 20, I'd suggest Factions.
I leveled my Ranger (Rangers FTW) in Proph and it was a b!tch to level. But I like him anyways, he rocks! |
