I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they worked out most of the bugs so that your profession or weapons or whathaveyou don't matter anymore for polymock.
If you *really* want to beat them and have some change laying around, buy one of the gold pieces. Flame Djinn is generally considered the best, but there are some slightly cheaper ones that should get the job done. For general strategy without dropping an extra 20-30k on a piece, you can check out the wiki. It's...ok, but about as good advice as you'll get. http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Polymock |

I found it pretty easy to beat every single polymock opponent with the same 3 pieces, and all of them are easy to get. I always used them in the same order:
1) Mirage Iboga (gold) (Kinda lame but inexpensive gold) 2) Fire Elemental (purple) (Decent offensive piece) 3) Earth Elemental (purple) (One of the strongest pieces available) You can use other pieces, but what's nice about those 3 is that anyone who has finished polymock has won them as rewards along the way. So as long as they havent already registered them, you can buy them. By winning at polymock, you'll eventually win these same pieces, which you can use on your next character, etc. One tip on their use: Against every opponent, always start the match with your strongest attack. Your opponent never blocks as his first move. |
