Fire damage
quick skill question, does conjure flame (no effect unless your weapon deals fire damage) work on a bow if you have ignite arrows preperation active? Im asking as IA dosn't state that your arrows are doing fire damage, whereas Kindle arrows does, so was wondering if there is a difference?
Thanks |

It is a good question, OP, and it still hasn't been answered. I wondered this too.
Do you HAVE to have a bow which specifically says "Fire Damage", or does it work with fire-based preparations or skills, by virtue of the nature of the prep/skill? Know what? I bet a fiery bowstring would make it work, except for green bows that wouldn't work either... According to wiki, the following preparations/skills deal fire damage:

Honestly can't say I've ever tried, but here's the concise description of Ignite Arrows:
Preparation. (24 seconds.) Your arrows deal 3...15...18 fire damage to target and foes adjacent to target. So either it should, or the description needs rewording to mention that it's fire damage on top of the normal piercing damage. That said, if you're running a conjure there's not much reason to not just use the fiery bowstring. You should really go out and buy a bow you can mod instead of a green. If you like the Deldrimor Flatbow, get this one. BTW, in answering NassauBob's question, it should theoretically work if you have a skill converting to fire damage. It's the same reason why [[Ebon Dust Aura] can trigger after using [[Staggering Force]. Last edited by zelgadissan; Aug 19, 2008 at 04:13 PM // 16:13.. |

i believe kindle does (did). Its kind of hard to test now since they changed conjure not to do separate damage. however, now that it is added to the bow damage, i dont know if preparations do proc it. im pretty sure the conflagration rituals would though, but using a ritual for a measly +10 damage you might want to rethink the build.

For green bows I use the following with conjure flame
Forgerunner Fire damage: 15-28 (req. 9 Marksmanship) Damage +15% (while in a stance) Health +30 |

Kindle Arrows will trigger Conjure Flame, but not Ignite Arrows. The only fire damage Ignite arrows deals is from the explosion. The arrows themselves are still considered piercing damage, which doesn't trigger Conjure Flame.
Conflagration will trigger Conjure too, but it's unreliable because it can be killed by the enemy. Any skill/effect in the game that converts your damage to fire will trigger Conjure Flame. Same with the other conjures. |
