Which sequel to buy?
I have the original Prophecies but I havent played it for about two years and now I would very much like to start againg. So I've noticed a lot of sequels have been released so I was hoping you would suggest some of them as I dont' want to buy them all though.Considering armor/farm spots/skills etc etc which would be the best?Should I only get EOTN or some other or just wait for GW2?

I personally would buy EOTN because it has more correlation to the Prophecies storyline, as well as sharing the same maps... It has great farming, and fantastic new items...
If it's PvP content you're after get factions... If it's Heroes you're after, get Nightfall (although they're also available in EOTN). |

GW2 is a while away yet so it would be a long wait.
as for which chapter to buy...well theres a sticky thread dedicated to discussing just that. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10102502 Last edited by Hollygen; Aug 31, 2008 at 01:01 PM // 13:01.. |

I would recommend Nightfall or Eye of the North. Nightfall is a pretty good campaign and introduces two new professions (The Dervish and Paragon). Eye of the North is an actual expansion for level 20 characters - it also serves as the link between GW1 and 2, through something called the Hall of Monuments.
In terms of story Nightfall rounds up the stories of Prophecies,Factions and Nightfall while Eye of the North continues some of the stories left by Prophecies and also serves as the "stage setter" for the story of GW2. There is also Factions but it is the most unpopular of the campaigns with very little activity in the end game areas. Factions introduces the Assassin and Ritualist professions aswell as a new game type called Alliance Battles (A very casual PvP fight that has 12 players fighting on each side in a race to capture shrines set around the map.The sides are known as Luxon (red) and Kurzick (blue) ). Guild Wars 2 is quite a bit away so i wouldnt recommend waiting for that unless your very patient. Last edited by Free Runner; Aug 31, 2008 at 12:15 PM // 12:15.. |
