Gaining Hero Skill Points
Is there another way to do it other than leveling up your sunspear rank. Im on Nightfall to just so you know. I really need more skill points but there all at 20 (all that I have) and it takes a long time to rank up my sunspear title now seeing as how im already a general and the next one is like 6000 points away.
So is there another way to get hero skills points other than leveling up my sunspear rank or paying one platinum AND losing one of mine (which is incredibly stupid) |

You get hero skill points by going up in Reputation ranks (suneapear, lightbringer, Asuran etc).
Also remember that any skill unlocked is avaliable for heros so you can buy skills for yourself and also have heroes use them. Bah, I'm ill, don't ask me anymore question about this, I can't think straight. Or type. |

Here is a link to the wiki page http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hero_Skill_Point
How to get points: 1. Sunspear ranks 2. Lightbringer ranks 3. EoTN ranks

Are you getting the hero skill points for your heroes, or are you using them to buy skills for yourself? If the latter, then people have already mentioned Sunspear, Lightbringer, and EotN ranks.
If you're looking to get stuff for your heroes, it may be easier to AB (if you have Factions) or RA/TA/HA, then use the Balth points to unlock skills. |

And if you only have NF, LB ranks would be the other way to gain hero skills. If you are just looking to unlock skills for your heroes, gaining Balth faction, to unlock the skills via the priests, is another way. You can then use tomes if you want the skills for yourself, though you'll have to pay/farm for those yourself. |

And thanks everyone for the help. I just now got to the town where you get lightbringer points so hopefully I will be able to get them faster now. |

i don't think anyone has mentioned that if you buy a skill for yourself, from a regular skill trainer, your heroes also learn that skill. for instance if you go to the skill trainer (not hero skill trainer), and buy [[bulls strike], all of your heroes will also be able to use that skill now if they have a warrior primary or secondary.
if you're trying to learn the PvE only Sunspear skills, then you either have to pay and lose a skill point or gain the next rank level. |

Also, if you have multiple characters, try to only use hero skill points on skills from your profession or from others that you actually want to use yourself because once unlocked, the skill is available to ALL your heroes.
So, If my ele wanted her hero to have a monk skill from the hero skill trainer, I would get it with my monk so that it would be ready for use on my monk and my ele's heroes. |
