AMEN Jae Onasi!
As an update. I ran my wife's toon to LA last night and I need to get my new survivor - going for 10 Million XP - to LA and then to the station. Thanks for the info on why u used a party member to go with. I think that I used the less expensive scroll cause it ended up not costing me anything. I would sell the drops I got and then use a scroll so the title progressed faster but I still got it at no additional cost. i do like to go back there every now and then and get the lockpicks to progress on my lucky title as I farm Charr Carvings at Fort Ranik. There are 1-3 chests there that I can open and have a great chance of keeping the lockpicks. As for my remarks about using no armor you are right. You should have MAX armor just because it is smart with the appropriate runes on it. It did take me almost a month to perfect my war build so that I can kill the snow wurms in HM before they go into the ground. Settle down everyone. Yes I said a month. I needed to cap some skills and play around with my build to get it just right. Once I got my skills I needed to get the right secondary profession so I had to Pay someone to run me to the desert and then to get the Elemental as secondary. Why? Cause of the Fire spell that the ele has. I used the "deals extra damage when yielding a FIRE Weapon". So I also played with my shield. As you know Jae Onasi there are a million nice armor +10 mods that you have in storage no doubt. So one day I took 5 shields with me to try and figure out what type of damage the Snow Wurms deal. It took a bit but I found out and I use that shield. Oh the type. get this.. FIRE damage. Snow Wurms deal Fire Damage. So my weapon is fire and any shied is fire. Now to address some thing else in this thread. If you do not like getting survivor this way keep it to yourself. Go bug someone else. We are trying to be constructive. Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes. If you want to go on about the old days that's fine. i was there in the old days when a group of 8 was real people. We had fun. This is fun to me. I like farming and grinding. It upsets no one and I run solo. So go get your title. WOOT. |

Just a quick tip to remember, if going for Survivor through normal play, once you've reached Canthan mainland - don't Ascend doing the Nahpui mission. Take yourself to Tyria, get to the desert and ascend using the Augury Rock mission - that 50k xp is very sweet!
Just did this last night on my Rit survivor, now can do the quests for 5 new secondary professions, free of charge! (and as this is my "poorer, secondary" account, any chance to save money is greatly appreciated ). Good luck whichever way you end up going for survivor. I've found that re-playing the old quests/missions with a character that MUST survive has actually brought alot of fun (for me) back into the game. Certainly makes you rethink your tactics and method of play. Have fun. Oh yes - and of course, as soon as you're able, don't forget pick up what heroes you can from NF and EotN. |

I'm currently working my way towards the title with Dwarven Boxing on my Paragon while under the effect of 150% xp scrolls. (Yes, there are better, more expensive scrolls but I want to make some money along the way as well) It works quite well. Just hoping I don't get a disconnect... |

I started out with a to-be Legendary Survivor in the first campaign. After quickly choosing a secondary and getting all the skills from both primary and secondary in pre-searing I moved on. If you're afraid to lose in the mini-PvP match due to low level, then I'd recommend logging out and then logging back in. This will put you where Rurik talks with the guards (thus skipping the PvP).
The next thing you should do is work your way up to level 10. During this time, feel free to grab some skill quests. You don't need to do any missions. Get a run to LA. Run to D'Alessio (flag your hereos when fighing imps). Enter an EMPTY district and stand where the gate is. Behind this gate, there will be a horde of enemies being killed by the White Mantle. You get free EXP from them This'll help you get to level 10 real quick. Next, grab the quest to get to Eye of the North. You'll be treated as a level 20 at this point. Run to EotN outpost. Run to (forgot the name of the city that has dwarven boxing :P). Get to level 20. It'll be really quick. At this point, you can either continue with boxing, or try and get to Lutgardis. If you want to do HFFF, then you need to go back to Lion's Arch and get the quests to go to Cantha and Elona. To get to Cantha is easy. Take care as you'll be alone and two Afflicted will pop out before you enter the main city (where Jamie (sp?) is). There will be an NPC team to take care of that, though. To get to Elona, you need to be more defensive due to the high level mobs and low level henchmen. Take defensive skills: Armour of Earth, Protective Spriit, etc... Also, having someone help you will make it a lot easier. It's not hard, but why take a risk :P You'll get a quest to meet Kormeer (sp?) outside. You'll also unlock some heroes. The three you'll need for HFFFing are Koss, Melonni, and Vekk. Go back to Cantha and you'll need to complete a few missions (5?) in order to get to House Zu Heltzer. Either get the run, or be very careful doing them. Good luck! |

Arrrrrrgggggg
225k XP, nearly a 1/5 of the way there, was doing good up until now, but yes went and got myself killed, some bad pulling on my part in the Sunjiang District Mission and unfortuantly my Hench healers couldnt keep me alive, sob, why does it seem every mob in the game wants to target you when you have a specific goal in mind, I am sure they can read thoughts . Oh well was only a couple of days worth of gamig, Delete and start again, I am determined to get that title, without leeching in HFFF. Cheers Nos |

To tell you the truth, I would probably go with the HFF Kurzick Side since you can make money off it too along with your experience points.

Well try again. My first survivor took me 3 tries to get. I was lvl 2 on one of them. I was SO MAD. I through a fit of rage. The dogs ran. remember that it takes trials and errors to find the best way. I do not think that there is a single player that has ever gotten survivor "by Chance". This is why it is such a GREAT title. It is hard. Even killing wurms I died once. The trees killed me. I was trying t sneak in and kill a wurms and it cost me my lifee
Live and learn. I like the capping elites as well. |

Just so you know, every guide that said killing wurms always said to ignore the wurms by the trees because they will aggro and kill you. So just remember that for anyone else who does it.
I am doing the lazy way of legendary survivor for my next toon. My assassin I got ran through to hfff and unlocked kahmu so I can use triple d/a with dash and pious haste (now with mox). First time around I did it on my paragon with the hard mode jade knights outside of marketplace with the 2 bonder/ symbiosis and shield of judgement stuff. |

If you only have henches that seems to be pretty hard since you can't customize anything to deal with specific threats. Henches are decent but not great if you're a solo player.
If you have heroes though, there's a lot of additional options. Depending if you've cleared Factions before too. The first time I went for LS, I had a N/Mo MM and basically after surviving to Lv 20, continuously ran though the mission Minister Cho's Estate on HM. That, without scrolls, nets about 7k exp per run with a full team of 4 with really good drops, and it's not insanely boring either. So if you have a MM hero, that'll work the same and the chances of dying are pretty low unless you aggro more than 2 groups. Apart from that. Get to NF after Kaineng and cap every single elite. There's at least 30-40 you can cap after going to the main continent. Just stay away from the dervish bosses unless you're really good at dodging. |

Unfortunately LS can be as much about luck as it is about being careful and playing sensibly. If you are going to go HFFF - which (if you get to Lutgardis) is the safest way, then make sure you have a proper team with you for Boreas and Sunjiang. This is assuming you don't get a "run". Boreas still has an odd bug where the spear can wipe your party clean even if you don't go near it, and sunjiang can be deadly if heroes go and aggro the entire boss mob.
For Vizunah, make sure the other team is AI, so everyone skips. Though apparently fixed I hear that the death still counts occassionally. I tried snow wurm farming on my second survivor. Took too long, though given some of the tips here I might give it another go. |

The snow wurms are fast if you build is right. I will tell you this, Mesmer/Necromancer is Crud for anything. I have no idea what possessed me for this build and snow wurms cause the snow wurms do not use "spells" so the mesmeris junk cause there is just no skills that I can use to kill thess wurms in hard mode before they go into the ground.
That said, I just grab the protector henchie and a scroll. I get almost 300 a run in under 3.5 minutes for aroiund 17 runs an hour for 5,032 XP per run hard mode. |

While it may not be the safest route, it's certainly not as dull as killing the same 13 wurms over and over again, try farming in Grenth's Footprint (Deldrimor War Camp). Good drops, and easy 4-5k+ per run.
You can get killed, but you'd have to be really unlucky or afk to do so. Each runs pays for the Hunter's scrolls (300 gp each) easily, and you get: weapon drops; armor drops; purples; and even greens. (I got Flint's Fleshcleaver on 1 run.) Much more interesting way to get xp! |

Just so you know hfff your way to legendary survivor= a loooong process. Each 10k faction dump nets you 50k experience and takes anywhere from 45 mins to an hour depending on loading, how quick you are etc.
I am at like 900kexp and still got another 10 hours to go until my legendary survivor. |

if u started from factions, its not very hard to get to boxing u should be able to do it.
just get ran thru the quests and missions (primary) that will get u to bout level 10 by the time u get to marketplace. then the next step is running to KC, also extrememly easy, and many ppl do it for free. the quest to get to EOTN, also easy, u can get ran thru that with a simple running build, have a freind do it for free, doesnt take much time. the hardest part, is getting ot gnnars hold. make sure u get the quest from inside the hall of mon. northern allies quests. and fighting to gunnars is easy, but not for a level 10. get ran there i suggest. i did boxing till rank 2. watch out for lagging, thtas how i died =( |
