Skill packages vs Nightfalls
I read the thread for new players on a budget, but my question is a little different. I'm a typical college kid so even saving a few bucks is cool.
I own Factions and was looking to get Nightfall but $40 was surprising. Then I came across the Factions skill package for $10, which unlocks 300+ skills. My question tho... is Nightfall really that good? 300 skills on a single campaign would give me a competitive edge in some areas. Is there really enough improvement to warrant the extra 30 bucks? |

yes, by gods yes. yes with 300+ skills you will get a good edge but against most people who have all three campaigns AND they have all the skills unlocked. on top of that it unlocks a whole campaign, which you dont have to do all at once. and you get heros, yes for 40 its worth it.

I bought a few skill packs when they were on sale a while back, and I think it was worth it. The skills for your heroes and your PVP characters at your disposal without buying the skill or unlocking it with faction was nice.

First off, unless you really can't wait for a delivery to come, don't spend $40 on Nightfall through the ingame store. Newegg, for instance, has it for $20 (plus a little for shipping), and you can probably even find some other place that'll sell it for less.
And I'd go Nightfall over the Skill Unlocks. You can always unlock the skills manually, but you can't do the same for Nightfall. |

Buying the skill unlock pack will unlock ur skills, yes. However, it will unlock the skills YOU ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO. SInce u have factions, it shouldnt be too hard to unlock the factions skills.
Yes, 300+ skills is good. However, if ur on a budget, better to save ur money and unlock the skills as you need them. If you worked out how many of the 300 skills you will actually use, ull realise its not worth the money. Imo about 1/10 skills is used effectively in the game, with the other 9 being gimmicks and retarded. |

You probably want to get nightfall somewhere cheaper. Considering they're now selling the "Guild Wars Trilogy" for a little under $50. I'm kinda debating on getting nightfall to, but not sure if im gonna get to serious with guild wars, but for $20 bucks from newegg you get 2 char slots, paragon/dervish, and I'm always finding the good builds have nightfall skills.

From the looks of it, Newegg has a free shipping promotion for Nightfall right now. Woot.
Thanks for the help, guys. |
