Grandmaster Cartographer / Elona / Arena
I am past lvl 10 so i can not get in to the Sunspear Arena to get that percentage of the map. Do I have to have it to get the title? I am 2.4% from Grandmaster and am running out of walls to hug.

You don't need all of the arena, just the part where you can stand around. Scrape all you can of that bit and you should be fine.
I didn't know of that Arena until I'd gotten to about 96% on Elona, and yes, my character is Elonian |

No, you don't need the arena. You have a bit of leeway in the cartographer title, there is actually something like 101% of the map that can be explored, so you can miss 1% of map and still get the title. So its more then possible to miss the arena's, you just have to get the rest of the map that much more perfectly.
If you have troubles finding the rest of the points you missed, try Texmod with the Cartography made easy mod. It will highlight the unexplored areas of the map for you. |

Just a question - have you done the Remains of Sahlahja challenge mission? It's impossible to get 100% without it.
From wiki: "Complete exploration of this area will yield about 1.8% to the Elonian Cartographer title track. The maximum level of that title track cannot be attained without exploring all or at least most of Dynastic Tombs. Without this location, the maximum that can be achieved will not exceed 98.5%." Edit: might want to reread the OP post, Tatile. Thanks for the agreement though Last edited by zelgadissan; Oct 03, 2008 at 06:02 PM // 18:02.. |

Well at level 10 I doubt that he's gotten that far Zelgadissan, but it's a good thing to mention.

I'm pretty sure he's past lvl 10 though.. considering he has already explored 97,6 % of elona
on topic.. I managed to get elonian gmc on my sin.. so should be possible without that arena edit: wrote cantha instead of elona (fixed now) Last edited by ZeAliX; Oct 03, 2008 at 10:13 PM // 22:13.. |

arenas are not nessasary but that does mean you need to explore that much more of the map, usually you if you explore everything youll have about 101-102%.

as zelgadissan said, make sure and do all of the Remains of Sahlahja challenge.....that alone will net almost 2% of the map. Also make sure and hug all the walls in the outpost as well, this has opened a bunch up for me when I got my title.

As a side note, when you do the Remains of Sahlahja mission, you don't need to be too concerned with actually completing the mission. If I recall correctly, you just need to do enough to open one of the doors to a new area and then use a speed skill to outrun the bad guys and explore it. Also, IIRC, the doors open randomly, so i just started the mission repeatedly until each of the doors had opened and I explored everything.

Another vote for, no, you don't need the arena.
I got Elona GMC on my Prophecies-born Ranger (who had been level 20 for a long time before NF.) You can still get to the arena's outpost and map that, but I never got to uncover the arena battlefield nor the very starting area for Elona-born characters. I had 100% Elona map before I'd quite finished scraping every edge of the Remains of Sahlahja challenge mission and before I'd ever been into the Ruins of Morah outpost. Don't skip cutscenes in the missions. I've heard the cutscenes from Pogahn Passage uncover parts of the map you can't get any other way. (I can't speak to this being true or not, as I worked on mapping my first time through NF. So I never even wanted to skip the cutscenes.) |

Thanks 98.3% now, but...
I got to 98.3%, have scraped all towns and outposts. Have one section of Sahlahaj to get. The area of the Sunspear Areana I can run around in got me .2%. The Mods that The Meth mentioned, are they approved by the designers or do I risk a key logger???

Texmod is safe, just make sure that when you go to download the individual mods for it that the file you are receiving has a .tpf extension. If it doesn't, it's some kind of keylogger or virus or something other than the mod you want.

ArenaNet has no problem with players using TexMod. The program does not attempt to alter anything on the ArenaNet servers. All visual alterations on done on your local computer.
