Ebon Points?
Whats an easy way to get ebon points?
I dont need to max my title, I just need to get Ebon Battle Standard of Honor on my conjure barrage ranger to get a little bit stronger. I probably will stop at around rank 6 or 7. |

IMO I would just fill the Hero's Handbook...the quests are pretty short with the exception of HoS, DD and ATFH, so skip the last 3 if needed. I filled two books relatively quickly(on 2 diff chars) got to r6 ebon on one and r5 on the other.
Also, for a barrage ranger you might as well use "I am the Strongest" for damage...norn rank is easier to gain imo. |

If you dont want over r8,just max Handbooks, fastest way.
Or if you cant stand doing quests over and over again, vanquish Sacnoth Valley. |

Fill in a few hero's handbooks with the quests that are easiest/fastest for you to complete.

If you're not worried about reaching beyond level 8 Ebon, than NM should be fine. True you get more points for cashing in a HM mode book, and certainly you'll get more points from actual kills and quests whilst completing the book in HM, but then it is harder. It's personal choice then.
If you want to go beyond level 8, then you'll have to complete HM books http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hero_handbook shows how many points you'll get for each partially or fully completed book in each mode |

If it takes you more then 1.5 times longer to do HM then NM then dont bother. Otherwise it is worth it.

I'll add my voice to the "fill the books" chorus. Once you done any side quests and vanquishing you want/need to do, doing Hero's Handbooks is the fastest way to get Vanguard points. Next to that would be Dungeon Guides.
Just do whatever amount of the Handbook you can do in a reasonable amount of time and then pass them in. What quests you do and in what order is purely up to yourself, and can depend upon many factors, such as what class you are, how much help you can get, etc. One common "trick" is to try to get your points up to just slightly below level 8 and then pass in a NM book to get as far beyond L8 as you can, before you need to do HM books. |

doing the quests should get you around a tier or two in the early level, after that doing NM book is the best thing to do, specially seeing as you dont wont to go over r8, from f8 on you can only hand in HM books.
