Should I start playing again?
Greetings all.
Let me first explain why I ask. I haven't played Guild Wars in over six months. I moved and no longer had access to fast internet (or my GW discs, so there would be no logical way to install it) until recently, and I have been looking into playing GW again. Problem is, I've been reading a lot of the stuff people have been saying on these forums lately, and a lot of it seems to suggest (to me) not to come back. My question is: With all the stuff that people are upset about, should I start playing Guild Wars again, or just wait for Guild Wars 2? Thanks for your time. |

Um, install it, play it when you like to. When it bores you, play something esle.
It's free, so you can always come back. |

There's nothing better than forming your own opinion.
Some GWGuru people say the game is dead, unbalanced, etc, etc. They cry and whine all the day no matter what - if the game is not updated, it's because ANet doesn't care, if it is updated, the update is 'fail'... lol. But that's their opinion only, no one can dictate how you have your fun. There are even some people who have quit GW *cough* but they stay here and bitch and whine all the time, because they know everything about GW even without playing and we must bow to their leetness. Really, you should just ignore the trolling/flaming and negativity, there's nothing of this in-game. I can say I am still playing GW and it's very worth it. The latest update revived some Factions areas and I'm having a blast. This weekened I had tons of fun at Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry. The halloween weekend had the costume brawl that really rocked too. Sometimes I pop in to play some HA with guildies, or some RA when I'm short on time. The game is still updated from time to time, most of the weekend events are entertaining and fun. That being said, as you can see there are many ways to have fun in GW, but you have to find your own. I may not be leet-sauce as most people here, but I for sure have tons of fun still. It's all about perspective. Find a good Guild, be with the right people, ignore the whiners. Install, try it and see for yourself. Last edited by Windf0rce; Nov 17, 2008 at 09:46 AM // 09:46.. |

What Windforce said, especially The first two sentences and the last.
IMO, the monthly updates make it worth poping in the first/second weekend of each month at least. But you need to try it again for yourself. |

Its free...what have you got to lose if you install it, play for a bit, play something else, and come back to it. GW wont get jealous I promise.

The first thing you should never do is make any judgment based on a forum. Most people here are bitter and "say" they don't play anymore, but yet keep posting.
I agree with the others here, re-install the game and play it for a while, if you like it great if not no harm done. Plus you get the satisfaction of making a decision on your own instead of depending on total strangers to make it for you. |

1. For the future, you don't need the disks to install GW. You can download the agent from guildwars.com, enter your account login and password and play away.
2. The most vocal people in the world are the "complainers". This consists of not only people with a "real" complaint, but those who think it's "leet" to run down everything. The least vocal are the people who are content with the status quo.

I'm one of those people who don't play much any more, but I still post here.
And yes, I think GW has slowly gone down the tubes in many ways. They've "kiddy-fied" the game, adding only dumb-ass stuff like "party animal" titles. They've made most the titles so ridiculously easy to get now, that they are totally meaningless. Etc., etc. (I'm a PvE guy, btw - if I want to PvP, I play TFC. ) But, the original game is still there, and there is still a lot of entertaining stuff to do. And, who knows, standing around a virtual town firing off virtual fireworks, (while "drunk") may be your idea of fun. If you still know your original account name and password, your original stuff is still there, and so, it won't cost you anything. So go for it. Well, you CAN play again. But I wouldn't get too much into it, if you got bored once or twice already.
For example, I reinstalled game 4 days ago, but all I did was AB once thanks to a guest from friend's guild (because I can't AB without a guildhall) and it was a mess thanks to idiots without +30 AP quests OR elite skills OR max armor (-.-), and most of the time I just CM for lulz as a Paragon or Monk bonder or a Ranger Trapper or something for lols. |

I say if you can find yourself a good guild make some friends and accomplish something like titles or vanqs or even PvP then its worth it... but like some people say... they have their opinions... and it is FREE so you don't have to play if you dont want to, you arent losing money especially if you already have an account. So i say play again and if you don't like it after a week of trying it out then just leave. Ya never know till you try. Peace and good luck hope you make a good decision, and have fun with it bro its just a game remember that much.
