At level 11? You don't.
However if you want to play in RA/TA/HA/GVG whatever as a ranger, just roll up a PvP Ranger (which will automatically be level 20), get a build and equipment and then start playing. Generally I wouldn't listen to the advice of anyone who isn't at least rank 6 hero, rank 3 gladiator or rank 1 champion, even then there is a chance they will give you bad information but it reduces the chances of someone telling you or even convincing you a stupid thing to do is a "pro" thing to do. I'd start off with Random Arenas (RA) as there you will get punished the least if you play badly and there are no real consequences. I'd run either one of these builds: Melandrus Ranger Experts Dexterity Ranger (with either natural stride or troll unguent) Cripshot Ranger Burning Arrow Ranger As for equipment, just start off with a Recurve Bow with a Poisonous mod and a +30hp mod. This won't be the only bow you will need but I think weapon swapping might be a bit advanced for now. Your main goal as a ranger is interupting and condition spreading. What you'll want to do is interupt anything that is stopping your team from killing (the monk, ritualist etc) or anything that is killing your team if you're taking heavy pressure (mesmers, eles etc). You'll also want to keep apply poison up all the time and tab through targets spreading posion on them, creating pressure. Those are just some very very general tips about a ranger and if you want something beefy and more advanced to read I would strongly suggest this: http://www.teamquitter.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3797 Although, be warned, it is very long but DEFINATLY worth it. |
