Old player wonder if i should come back
Hey everyone, I played the very first GW and eventually got bored because there wasnt much to do and no one really grouped up for the hard instances. I'm wondering if there is more stuff to do at lvl20 now and more then just 1 armor set for lvl 20 and anything new and fun. Thanks.

There always has been more than a single level 20 set and there were always things to do when you turned 20; PvP, GvG, farming, maxing every title, whatever you want.
I came back after a break of a year two weeks ago or so, and I'm loving it. |

Get all the Guild Wars (Factions, Nightfall, EoTN) and you should never get bored. I have only been playing about 6 months and still have tons of things that I haven't done. You won't be disappointed when you come back.
I would buy EoTN first, get some heroes and have some fun in dungeons, but that is just my opinion. |

if u think groupin back then was hard...
its even harder now but thats why we have heroes and as far as i kno... there have -always- been more than 1 armour set anyways now is prolly one of the best times to get bak into the game cuz they introduced books which basically means better rewards for doin the storyline |

Wow fast replies. Thanks everyone. Does it matter which campaign or expansion or whatever you start on really? Or can you play through them all in whatever order

It dosent matter which you start on,i would start on either Factions or Prophicies, nightfall's long drawn out start can make the game seem bad at first, but go to Nightfall as soon as possible from the other games to get Heroes.

Order makes no difference. You can start one campaign and then skip to another before you finish then come back later. The game is very flexible. Keep in mind you will have to make it to certain parts before you can cross jump campaigns. If you do come back then you will want to bookmark:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page It has almost everthing you need to know to get you up to speed. Once again just my opinion but I would buy Eye of the North first, then Nightfall, then Factions. EoTN and Nightfall have your heroes and that is the main reason I recommend them first. |

Just a heads-up: the game has changed almost completely from how it was at release. The interface, the mechanics, even the graphics. Parts of it will be familiar to you (e.g. Pre-Searing hasn't changed much), but a very great many things wont be.

When you get the new stuff make sure to add it to your existing account and not to make another account or you can't take your old character to the new content. also, if you played at the very begining you probably have 3 birthday presents waiting for you. As for what to get, Factions is probably cheaper than Nightfall right now, or you could get it through the in game store and get 50% off a game. I would suggest Nightfall, it think is more similar to Prophecies than Factions is though Factions does have Alliance Battles which are pvpve and a lot of fun. Basically though you will have a mountain on new content you can go through with the two newer games and the expansion.
