mainly being that theres forwards travel, sideways travel, backwards travel and they all travel at different speeds forwards being the fastest when u use mousemovement no matter where u click it will always utilize the fastest forwards travel if u want the advantages of mouse movement without worryin bout misclicks when targetting hold down the -shift- key while targetting shift makes sure that u will not move even if u do misclick |

Click to move, number keys for skills. Skills 6-8 for me are set up to R, F and V and I also set 6 and 7 to my side mouse buttons for when I'm playing on my proper computer. My Vent button is the scroll wheel. It's really the most convenient you can get if you ask me, because with click to move you've got a lot more movement flexbility and space for skill usage on your keyboard, and with the number keys allow me to press Tab etc. a lot more effectively.

Since the game responds to both mouse and keyboard you can use both as it suits.
Invariably I'll have right hand on mouse and left on WASD. left thumb sits on C, with my thumb knuckle on space fo C-Space targeting. I can also reach shift or Tab with little movement of my hand then Fingers can then reach skills 1-5 with 6-8 usually clicked by mouse. For movement I use the mouse for running, or to steer my character's keyboard controlled movement, depending on requirements |

I use a cordless Logitech Rumblepad 2. It has 32 assignable buttons / rocker buttons / mini-joystick positions (some acting as two using a "shift" button), although in practice only 28 are really usable, at least by me. I've mapped all of the keys I needed for combat onto it and have 6 skills available if using with only one hand, in case I need to use the keyboard for something. Once I got used to it everything became second nature. I can fire off skills as fast as they recharge, quickly select targets or party members, all while moving around using just my thumb; while relaxing in my chair. Easier on my hands too.
Some good suggestions for re-mapping the keyboards in this thread, though, and I still sometimes play using just the keyboard, so I might adjust things a bit and give them a try. |
