Worth it?
So my account has all campaigns and 11 slots. 1 of ever character, and 2 warriors. I find myself missing everyday the good ol days of just prophecies though and I was wondering.
Do you think Would it be worth it to buy prophecies and open up a Just proph account for fun? I used to have a second one that was my perma pre account, but I gave it to my friend that I now play with constantly. I suppose i could always jsut buy more character slots and personally restrict the use of just prophecies but...I dunno. Seems trivial but this is actually a hard decision for me. If i just bought more slots, i would be tempted to take heros and pve skills and such. For those of you who love the days of proph, what would you do? Also i realize this will not remove playing with OTHER characters from other campaigns, but other players don't bother me as much. Price wise for the function, I get 4 slots for 20$ but loose the option to do other things from other campaigns which wouldnt REALLY bother me for those characters. Or 2 slots for 20$ and have access to all my gold skills etc etc. But I still want to keep it proph only so.....waddya think? Last edited by ajc2123; Dec 01, 2008 at 05:00 PM // 17:00.. |

Do as you wish. After being opened up to all areas and abilities that every campaign has to offer though, I personally wouldn't waste time working on something with much more limited access.

I agree with Shayne. I would go nuts if I only had Prophicies, but that's me. You do whatever is fun and keeps you interested in the game.
If I was in your shoes I would not buy another Prophicies campaign. It will take some willpower to not cross over into the other campaigns or start using skills from them. But once again thats just my opinion of what I would do and with the cheap prices of GW campaigns these days it hard to argue with buying another if you want too. Just my opinion. |

Yeh Amazon has proph at $5, so your not really losing out on much if you wanted to give it a go.

I too long for the Prophecies only days. An idea would be to get an extra character slot, start in Prophecies and finish all four campaigns with Prophecies only skills and without using heroes. I actually think it would be a big challenge.

I Think I'll do that... probably the better choice.

Given the current pricing of Prophecies, I'd lean towards another account (cheaper than a character slot). The other benefit to that is the Xunlai Tournament House.
I do have multiple accounts, and one of the things that drives me crazy is using a hero on my secondary account, where I don't have many skills unlocked. So I don't play my secondary account much any more, since I just decided to recreate characters from secondary account on my primary account (easier than unlocking all of the skills on my secondary account). But with just Prophecies, there aren't any heroes so you won't run into this issue. |

The beauty of the good old Prop only days, for me, was the great community and the newness of everything. That, sadly, is not something that can be captured again by just getting a Proph only account.
tvalentijn's suggestion seems interesting. |

Ahh I miss prophecies. The joy when Sorrow's Furnace came...the active players who sought parties not for missions, but just random quests...the non imba skills...the beautiful scenery...the massive PuGGing...Taking OVER 9000 hours to beat THK...
But damn, given all that we have now, I really can't find the control to restrict myself. |

You don't miss the days of prophecies only. You miss the days when you didn't know Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall by heart. You miss the days when there was still something new in the game. Because you've seen it all, done it all.
Guild wars is a great game. But one can have too much of even the greatest game. That's all. Take a break. Play something else. And then, return later. |
