The Perfect Companion
Ok, so I really don't know much about pets other than how awesome crocodiles are. But, I hear DIRE pets are the best as they do the most damage. My pet is lvl 11 and is "playful". Here's where the questions come in:
1) What is the best pet name prefix? (dire, hearty, elder?) 2) Whats the easiest way to get this type of pet? 3) Can I still get this type of pet, or should I start over? 4) If (1) isnt DIRE, then whats the easiest way to get DIRE anyways? |

Not sure what is the best... i think it depends where you want to use it for (pve/pvp... as a tank or as damage dealer).
All info about animal companions can be found here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Animal_companion Fastest way: I think only black widow (spider) can be charmed as a dire pet (spiders are always level 20 and can be found in all categories: hearty, elder and dire). |

it varies for me dire because i only use pets for spiking ppl in PvP
However hearty is props better for PvE you can get the pet to run into a mob and tank while u pelt the mob with barrage. Thats one of the oldest tricks in a book for Ranger/pet duo |

For PvE It does not matter, for PvP probably Dire. But dire croc sounds cool so.
The best way to get a dire I found was to find the animal you want, attack it with a low level weapon to make it hostile, and bring a mes hero with "Flesh of My flesh" and max fast casting, set it up so you are between hero and pet and go AFK after yuo make sure it does not go after the caster (really fast cast time so dont worry) in 4-5 hours you will have a dire pet |

depends on what you want, i prefer dire because higher health doesn't matter if the enemy is dead before they can deal damage.

for dire for me i had 3 heroes + myself all with sup runes. Apart from the rez hero who had 100 health. The idea is i got the pet i wanted near a rez shrine it would kill me and 2 heroes fast and take a few hits to kill the res hero. The rez hero would keep rezing but with no heals he would eventualy die if the pet pins him against a wall/ never stops attacking him. It worked well with 4 lvl 20s dying all the time i got a dire in about a hour
