My apologies in advance for the ambiguous topic title, the actual question is a lot longer and more complicated than the title will take.

QUESTION: I have a new Tyrian character I am working to make survivor. I wish to take her through Augury for the 50k bonus, however in the meantime I don't wish to block the huge number of quests that can be gained in Elona. I know that completing "Hunted!" will not grant my character ascension. (Yes I've read the wiki and used search.) However the question that has not been answered in any source I have access to is whether the 50k will be denied to me if I do the quest "Hunted!" before I ascend.

I re-iterate. I know that "Hunted!" will not count as ascension for my character as she is Tyrian born. My question is whether the 50k normally granted for ascension in Tyria will be denied because I have done a quest that grants ascension for OTHER characters. Basically I suppose I want to know whether this is glitched.

Yes I know I could just race through the missions in Tyria, get a runner, whatever, and just wait till I have ascended to complete "Hunted!" but it doesn't change the fact that the question has not been posed or answered yet.

The 50k exp is part of the mission rewards. So long as that is your char's first time doing Augury, you will receive the reward upon completion.

*edit Apologies, I haven't taken a char through the Desert in ages. I remember that the original bonus reward for Ascension was that, in addition to the mission rewards your char was instantly raised to lvl20. But that was changed in favor of the 50k exp, which I thought was unconditional. Reading the wikis(here and here), it seems I'm wrong. The bonus 50k is only handed out if you complete Augury before Hunted! or Weh no Su. I think I'll rush my derv through tonight.

My understanding is that the 50k is given (as a bonus) only if your character has NOT ascended. I honestly can't remember whether I gained the 50k with any of my other characters who had or hadn't ascended.

I know that if you take a Tyrian character straight there you get the 50k. But I cannot remember whether my warrior, who is Tyrian born but raced through NF first up to get armour, gained the 50k when she eventually did Augury. In fact I can't even remember whether she did Augury before doing Nahpui.

Alot depends on weather you are content in your original chice for a secont profession. If you feel a different profession or professions would make a decent difference then the 50k (to me anyways) counts for very little.
Regardless of the wisdom of a first choice there are advantages in being able to switch in some situations.

That said, 50k is very very nice going towards survivor.

If you do choose to become Weh No Su to get access to other professions (hunted doesn't grant this...dunno why it would prevent getting the 50k...hmmmm)
don't forget to get the attribute quests in the desert.

50,000 XP, unless the character has already completed the Nahpui Quarter (mission) in Factions or done the Sunspear Outpost quests in Nightfall, although it is still possible for characters from other campaigns who have not completed these other missions/quests to still not receive the 50,000.

straight from the unofficial wiki.

this mission grants 50000 XP for completing it the first time for Prophecies characters. Non-Prophecies characters can only receive this Ascension bonus if they have not completed Nahpui Quarter or Hunted!. The bonus reward remains at 1000 XP though, also rewards in hard mode remain standard.

and from the official wiki.

so it looks like one wiki says you get it unless youve done the other ways of ascension, and the other looks like it says if youre a prophecies character you get it either way. i would just go with saying you don't get the bonus if you've ascended in the other campaigns.

Turbo, these quests/missions are commonly just labelled the "ascension quests/missions". Everything that I have read or seen state the 50k is for those who "have not ascended doing other ascension quests".

According to the Official Wiki a Tyrian or Canthan character CANNOT ascend in NF. The question is whether doing the "Elonian character ascension quest in which you do not ascend" voids the 50k reward when you ACTUALLY ascend at Augury (assuming you've not done Nahpui).

I'm doing the last of the missions - Doing DoD now, then Dopple - so I will tell you once I finish. Unless you want me to find out for becoming Closer to the Stars.

My Ranger is Tyrian, and has done Hunted!

Just finished DoD, so on to the Doppleganger! With my pet lizard to help. (and 30 armor ^^)

Just did it, I did in fact get the 50k experience.

Thank you very much Azazel. I'm assuming the character is not Elonian? And I'm pretty sure from memory that doing Nahpui does indeed void the 50k xp, so it is really only the combo of "Augury/Hunted!" that is in question, and by extention only on non-Elonian characters.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. 50k experience is not that big a deal when you look at the whole game and the experience gained. Getting any "particular" 50k is not worth worrying about. (I know, it's easy for a guy with millions of XP to say that, but it is true.)
