Elementalist Beginner Question
I am a relative newbie to Guild Wars, so forgive my ignorance. I am using a E/Mo Earth Magic build that looks useful for PVE soloing. I am currently in pre-searing and level 5. My question is, as there are no earth magic in the pre-searing world, what should I do with my skill points? Should I save them until I get earth magic skills in the post-searing world and then put them into earth magic, or should I use them now on the skills I do have to increase my current abilities?
To be clear, I am exclusively interested in PVE, so PVP concerns are not relevant. Thank you for any feedback! |

you can reassign you're attribute points whenever you're in town. So just use them and if you are going to use another built press k and just reorder them.
btw Skill points are points you buy skills with Attribute points are points you assign in a certain branch for example earth magic |

To continue with the above, skill points are also pretty much unlimited, though you have no place to spend those on while in pre. Attribute points go up to 200 and can be reassigned as many times as you want while in an outpost, though you also won't reach that number for quite some time.

As I said...forgive my ignorance...attribute points it is! Thank you for the very helpful answers! I will apply the attribute points immediately! To think I was walking around with all those unapplied points and wondering why it was taking so long to kill things. Jeesh.

also i dont think there are any earth magic skills in pre-searing, your allowed a very small amount. once you reach a comfortable level you should leave pre searing and go to post searing. from there you can buy skills with money and skill points from skill trainers, also many quests in prophesies have skills as rewards.

if your going to be in pre for any prolonged amout of time, i suggest checking pvxwiki for a good fire build to get you thru to post or LDoA if your looking for titles.

pvxwiki - a site that has many Guild Wars skill bars LDoA - Legendary Defender of Ascalon is a title that you can display for prestige. It is awarded per character for reaching level 20 in Pre-Searing Ascalon. Personally, I would say the better earth magic elite skills come from Nightfall. I also suggest not using skill points on skills that can be gained from quests. Check here to see if a skill can be gotten from a quest. |

How is pvxwiki going to help someone in Pre? The only fire skills available in Pre are Flare and Firestorm. That doesn't give you a whole heap of options for making a fire build, and I don't think you're going to find any builds on PvX based on those skills.

As a new player playing for the first time, ignroe pvxwiki for now as well as LDoA. You leave Pre by taking the quest from Sir Tydus where he says "are you sure you want to leave" several times around level 9, which is a good time for a new player to leave.

As previous posts .a few things come to mind..
As was said if you like earth then pick up all skills as you go along by the quests ,keep mapping back and forth to ascalon when you are a lower level as quests are added all the time Ilike to play both ,,ie depending on what mission you are in so, chop and change as you level dependant on what skils you have ..can alter in any town or outpost What campaigns you have ect...your low level at present use your glyph of lesser energy on your bar as you build up energy storage,as you say strictly pve there are a lot of various builds..experiment read each one ...and mostly enjoy the game |
