Armour Rune & Insignia
I'm trying to make sure I've got the best armour I can have at this point in the game because I've been having some trouble on a couple of the missions, but not sure which are the best Runes and Insignia to put on them. I've currently got Armour 71, but has anyone got any suggestions on the best Runes and Insignia to add to them?
Also I currently have a Shocking Foehammer of Warding doing 18-33 Lightning damage. Is this OK or should I be using Axes or swords? Last edited by JJWend; Dec 27, 2008 at 09:12 AM // 09:12.. |

Full survivor or radiant (survivor is more common) except for your gloves, which should have a Stonefist. A minor hammer rune on your helmet, minor Strength on your chestpiece. Whichever vigor rune you can afford on your boots, and your choice of a rune of Clarity + Vitae, or two Vitae runes.
That's the setup I usually use, anyway. |

Ok it would help if you let us know where you were in the story and what level you are. Also depending on which chaapters you have their are a couple shortcuts to max armor.
I'll take form your post you're a warrior, and you're playing through prophecies. Runes-wise: Have a headpece of (weapon)-mastery for your favoured weapon, and stick an equivalent rune on that. If you have a number of different builds using diferent weapons (and there's little reason not to, and to pick the most suitable for the area) then it's worth investing in a separate headpiece for each weapon. A strength or tactics rune would be useful. Vigor and Vitai are also good to have. Avoid major or super runes (except for Vigor if you can afford it) unless you have a specific setup that has to have it, since the bonus to attributes is far outwayed by the hit to your health Insignia... I tend to think you can't go far wrong with Survivor across the board As for what weapon.... That's personal choice. I like swords on my warrior. A guildie of mine swears by hammers, and her knockdowns are useful. Really play around with different builds and find what works Last edited by Hollygen; Dec 27, 2008 at 10:58 AM // 10:58.. |

I'm playing prophecies at the moment and currently stuck on mission at Sanctum Cay.
What about any of the insignia which increases armour like Sentinel? |

If you have Factions or EotN you can pick up max armor by following the relevent quests from Lions Arch to Kaineng Center or Boreal Station respectively
Sentinal will only boost armor against elemental damage, and there's a lot of non-elemental damage out there. Plus Sentinal needs a high Strength level. Most the insignia for additional armor requires you to meet certain settings; high strength, whilst in a stance, whilst attacking. |
