I saw a Crystalline Sword on a guru sales thread once.
Purple and inscribable.
Anyone have an idea where it might drop?

"Purple Crystalline Swords occasionally drop from quest chests in the Underworld, Sorrow's Furnace, and the Fissure of Woe. Gold Crystalline Swords, however, only drop from the Victory Chest that appears after winning a match in the The Hall of Heroes or in a Zaishen Chest which can be found in the Isle of the Nameless. Versions without Inscription remain far more rare than those that have."

As far as I'm aware, the crystallines that drop from the reward chests in uw, fow, and sf are still uninscribable. I seem to remember a while back (when eotn first came out) people talking about inscribable purple crystallines dropping from one of the gimmicky dungeons, either fronis irontoe or the secret lair of snowmen. Can anyone confirm/deny this? If they did once drop there, they don't anymore.

could have come from a chest in that winterdays quest in EotN (the one that spawns the smites as well) ... but that is just a guess.

Afaik purple's don't drop from any end-chests. This includes the Dungeon, UW, FoW, deep, urgoz and zaishen chests. And the quest-chests in UW, FoW and SF don't drop inscribable stuff. Not sure weither or not the HoH chest drops purple's, but I'm guessing no there also.

That sell thread is abit old tho (nov-07), so could have been something that's nerfed today?

98% sure that that sword is from the EotN preview weekend. It was a drop from Frostmaw's Burrows' reward chest and yes, they changed the chest so it would a) no longer drop purples b) no longer drop crystalines. It may quite possibly be the only one in existence.

They don't drop anymore and probably only 1 exists.

i saw a inscribable crystaline purple drop from a locked chest in FOW, i saw one drop from one of the little crappy chests that spawn aftewr doing a chest(completly forgot their names) in FOW. they were both shit mods though, or so the people who got them claimed.

Fow locked chest aint drop inscriptable drops so that's a lie anyways.
+ what ppl said before the chests after completing a quest in FoW/UW can drop Crystallines but they aren't inscriptable.
