Makin' some money?
I used to be relatively rich since I PvP'd alot, but now that I took a break and came back, I just wanna learn to do pve primarily, So I was wondering the following questions:
Where are the good places to get some cash? Tips on merchanting items, and what items sell now a days? Lastly, since I'm working on getting my money back up, how could I increase the process of getting my money at a secure level? any response would be great Thanks! |

if u have a monkie... try to do 3 man HM Shards of orr... its basic 600hp monk with smiter and ranger and its very profitable coz Bone Dragon Staff drops there (q9's r about 400e each)
Edit: Or play Tournaments in Hero battles... if u ll b good u can earn a lot money bcoz of zkeys purchased 4 reward points. Last edited by rockin'; Jan 05, 2009 at 05:33 AM // 05:33.. |

I'll answer your questions in the order you posted.
1.) You can make relatively good money in loads of different ways. Monks can get some good income by running dungeons (such as Cathedral of Flames) and bringing people along. Another good way to make money, although not as profitable as it used to be, is running people from place to place. e.g. Ascalon to L.A. will net you appx. 3k per person. 2.) This is a hard one to answer as the market changed daily but the things to keep are rare weapons, pricey inscriptions, rare crafting materials, etc. I recommend sitting in Kamadan and just watching the WTS/WTB list. That should give you a fairly accurate representation of where people are spending their money. 3.) As far as getting money back up, I recommend picking up EVERYTHING until your inventory is stuffed. Then when your full head to a town and sell it all. Depending on what area your in you can get upwards of 2k+ just on selling all the junk you pick up. Hit me up IGN (names in sidebar) if you need help. Cheers! |

The one thing no one ever says is what sort of money they are looking for.
Can you make money easily yes can you make a lot easily, what's a lot ? 3 figures yes 4 and above that's a lot harder If you don't spend madly general gaming with a little farming a couple of hundred k is pretty easy. More serious farming in any area and you can in a month or two of utter tedium raise that towards the high hundreds. So How much and how quickly ? |

Realizing you don't need money to be successful in PvE helps a lot.

Ummm Zokocow runs from Ascalon to Lion's Arch are worth 2K they were worth 4K at one time in history but they went down when Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North released. Oh and Steeledmite just go through all the missions in any one campaign and you should have quite a bit of money to get you up then mindlessly run the same dungeon over and over again sell the greens and golds to people, identify all the other items then sell the runes to people or the rune trader then merch the rest. Do that every time after the dungeon and you should keep pretty steady with money i know this because thats what i do

I'm really just asking for maybe about 100k or so within.....eh, give or take a week or 2. My only roadblock is I'm resistant to repeatedly farming my gold because I'm balancing School, Lacrosse, and other virtues. It's the reason im looking for a market type deal, or else I would farm. I'm trying to learn what is selling right now for substantial money, and how I can come to acquire decent money without soooo much farming. This all probably sounds repetitive, I know, but I have to read this big history book by the end of this week, so my mind is a bit construed. any tips or suggestions, or even feedback, would be appreciated Oh and to the others that replied, thanks for the feedback, I would have quoted, but it seemed that his comment summarized all of the above. |

When I had been playing the game for a while probably pretty badly lol
I decided I wanted a comfortable cash buffer so I could pretty much buy any item that came up for sale or make sure I could go on capping skills. Pooling my resources I found I had 30 k. Looked around for an area that any idiot could farm with a halfway decent build. Advice from friends was to team up and go for places like the underworld and other elite areas. I thought different I still do. Going into areas like that gives good results for things like golds and ectos "or it did" On the other hand you needed a good team lots of waiting doing nothing but get a team. Then you had the chance of screwing up and having to restart. Not for me I went straight to Zen Dajun and cleared the lagoon area with either my Ranger or MM necro Its fast hard to fail and not too boring. You get lots of materials some average purples and golds and a reasonable return in cash when its all sold. Doing that a couple of times each time I played got me to 100k pretty quick. I still do farm areas like that and now have 300k + and to be honest I don't really need that much. Everyone is equipped and I have little desire for elite armour so I am happy enough, only cash drain I have is consumables and that's not a big drain. |

To get anywhere in the market side of things your going to need a decent amount of cash, as the things worth power trading cost quite abit.
However, if your only wanting 100k, I wouldnt bother with the market. Like others have stated running provides some source of income, getting a run thru CoF (Cathedral of Flames) has become quite popular. 2k for a run that takes about 30 minutes, and you'll make that cash back plus more, usually averaging out to about 5-8k a run. Your other option is farming, which I know you said you didnt really want to do it, but its the faster way to make money. |

Feather farm. Yesterday I got 105 feathers in one run, 16 min, using a solo fire ele outside Seitung Harbor. That's a stack every 45 min. A stack of feathers sells for 8-8.5k.
Plus a few k from the minor runes (minor divine favor and soul reaping go for ~2k each at the merchant) equals quick easy money, doesn't take a complex build, easy equipment, and nothing fancy on the armor. Last edited by BulletStopper; Jan 06, 2009 at 11:37 PM // 23:37.. |
