I have right now 116 opened chests, can anyone please tell me where to farm chests, and the most important question: 600g keys or Lockpicks???? I'll apreciate any help, thank you !! PD: I'm sorry for my bad english. |

I would say lockpick only because of the increasing chance of retaining them. Which will also increase your lucky and unlucky titles.

Lockpicks are never 100% one-use.
In normal mode, on a 600g chest (where the normal keys cost 600g) you have a 30% chance of retaining your pick. (EDIT: With 100 chests opened, you have R1 Treasure Hunter for a 3% bonus too saving your pick, so your chance is 33%) So, you could figure the actual cost of the pick as 70% of 1.25k (or 875g). So, you would be better off buying a bunch of 600g keys and opening your chest of choice until your adjusted per-chest cost is less than that of the key. theres tons of threads with great suggestions on areas on where to farm chests.
I would suggest just outside droks/port sledge you can run these chests in nm with a cheap key or u can go with lockpicks to increase ur lucky titles imo thats the way to go! gl on your title |

If your a grinder do Vabbi chets, if not then go around your usual buisness and wait until you have around 5000 chests and ALWAYS have lockpicks on you.

The Boreal chest farm seems the fastest
Go up the hill and to the bridge - check for chests - open those you find - resign - rinse and repeat. Takes about 60-70 seconds per run with an average of 0.9-0.95 chests per run |

I'm doing the boreal chest farm, seems easy and fast.
The only thing I don't get is when to change from key-NM to Lockpick-HM modes, I'm not so good at maths xD Thank you !! |

60 sec for an average of .9 chests, but that is 2 loads per, and if you have a slow comp you'd be better going for The Mirror of Lyss. 5 chests at most takes 10-15 min, and thats me running on a necro without a running build, with a running build you could get all 5 in 5-10 min with only 2 loads, 1 in 1 out |

I did my treasure hunter in the Cathedral of Flames first level NM (though it was before the SF nerf). 2 chests is normal, though 1 is possible and very few times are there no chests at all. A run will take about 2 minutes. You can get a lot of good skins there too.
I used all lockpicks and sold golds as unids unless they had +30hp or were r9. It took 3 months to max doing 100 chests per day. Lucky will end up being about 2mil when you're done. |

In regards to cost - a lockpick has a certain chance of being "retained" (not breaking) when you use it. So, for example, if you have a 25% chance of retaining a lockpick, you have a 75% chance of it breaking (100% - 25%). At that rate, the lockpicks cost you an average of about 1125g (1.5k x 0.75). When you get to a 50% chance of retaining your lockpick, the lockpicks will cost an average of 750g (1.5k x 0.50) or 625g if you buy them in bulk at 1.25k each. (As your percentage of retaining goes up, your cost per lockpick goes down.). This is close to the cost of a 600g key, so at that point, it would more beneficial to buy lockpicks instead of keys. Here's a simple hint for you. When you go out to find chests, bring along some keys and at least one lockpick too. Then, when you go to open a chest it will give you the option to use either a key or a lockpick, and, most importantly, it will tell you the percentage chance of retaining the lockpick, so you can find out at what point lockpicks would be better for you. You should find someone selling lockpicks at 1250 each (usually found in Kamadan US dist 1, selling 80 lockpicks for 100K) and buy a lot if you are going to be serious about chest running. Either that or join a guild that controls an outpost,- then you can buy them for 1200 each.
If you want to boost your un/lucky titles you should consider this event feature: Nine Rings You buy a lot of tickets (I suggest 100K worth) and go stand on the center ring, leaving your computer on while you sleep. It will cost you money, but it will also boost your lucky title! These are the events where this "game" should be available: Canthan New Year (beginning of February) Birthday Celebration (end of April) Dragon Festival (beginning of July) |

Lady (enter her last names here) sells lockpicks in Lion's Arch. Just search the party bar for her selling lockpicks or anyone else selling lockpicks. I buy mine off of her.
OK Treasure hunter title. Lockpicks lockpicks lockpicks because if you keep the lockpick you get points towards a title. If you break the lockpick you get points towards a title. Here is the solution to acquiring FREE yes FREE lockpicks. KILL SNOW WURMS in Borial's Station. It is the First outpost that you come to in Eye of the North. Kill the wurms in NOrmal mode. There are 13 of them. Kill them in a certain order and they POP right out of the ground FOR YOU. They can drop lockpicks to boot. Take 1 hero with you...like Jora and mash away on them (this cuts down on time but has no real effect on the loot they drop). Sell the drops for gold at the merchant and BUY more lockpicks. I am lvl 4 treasure hunter and lvl 4 unlucky and lvl 3 almost lvl 4 lucky. I got bored and made a touch ranger.. There is also the chance of getting 2 chests/run. The fastest chests THE FASTEST CHESTS.. and i mean the F A S T E S T C H E S T S are found in BOXING. Just run buy the first group.. use the speed buff on the second group and then hold down on Alt as you run. Constantly hit the number 1. Open chest and map out. I can map in and out in around 50 seconds. Finding Killroy is a real BUGGER in that outpost. Use your Compass and run towards the exit with Alt depressed until you see killroy and click on him. I hate gunner's hold outpost. |
