Where can you buy guild wars collector's edition in the uk( or anywhere else that ships to the uk) without having to spend ??400?

Euhm, nowhere? The thing is, you can't buy the Prophecies CE anymore. Except from people who know they are highly wanted.

That's the one thing I hope they do some time a reissue of the CE editions, so the market drops out from under those who hoarded them to make a killing.

While its true it might annoy those fortunate to have them already but really is it that much of a big deal.

I don't have the Prophesies CE edition it wasn't on sale near me and anyway I had no idea it had a headset inside as well as the divine aura for your characters.
I did buy the CE editions of Factions and Nightfall and don't care at all if suddenly everyone else has the special dance emotes you get.

So I hope it happens, for that matter just make a download for the online store.
CE prophesies Factions and Nightfall upgrades $10 each with a discount for buying 2 or 3 at the same time.

yeah, i really wish that a prophecies collector's edition upgrade would be implemented in the online store but at the same time it would devalue the divine aura that people already have.

You can't get the original anywhere for under $400. However, Factions CE is ??16.99 on Amazon.co.uk, and Nightfall CE is ??19.99 there, too.

I don't think there would be anything wrong with re-releasing a collectors edition. Not as an upgrade, but a re-release of the game. After all, it's still collector's buying it...

I think you will find that there is no stock left for the factions CE, I've been looking myself. Nightfall is available though...

From personal experience in searching actually finding a Prophecies Collector's edition, I would have to say your best bet is eBay.

I bought mine for about 80 USD plus about 15$ shipping from Europe. It's one of those right place right time last minute bid things. But you can get it for what I think is a reasonable price.

Just search in eBay: Guild Wars Collector's edition

***Note: Make sure you compare shipping prices between sellers and the different exchange rates, and if their auction is a Buy It Now or not.

Also watch for the language the CE is in. I found many French versions, but was lucky enough to get an English one for the price I mentioned above.

As for the CEs, they don't make them anymore. So whats out there is all that's out there, with the Proph one being almost 4 years old. If you want it, you'll have to pay for it(nevermind having to find the damn thing).

@Tois If you live in the states, try going to a Circuit City, if one is near you. They're closing shop and liquidating all their stuff, which means clearing out all the forgotten stuff in the back of their warehouses. Surprised me to see a dozen Factions CEs on a shelf during a recent visit(there where 3 times as many NF CEs too).

I actually saw a CE of Prophecies on ebay about 2 weeks back and it was selling for $61 dollars Canadian. Now before people go off the hook and start spouting the standard "ss or it didn't happen" or "this guy's just trying to boost his own sale", There is a reason I didn't buy it. First, the guy just created his ebay account approximately 2 weeks before and he didn't have any feedback. Then there was no description, for all I know he could have been selling the empty box. I smelled a scam so I didn't buy it. As for the CE's of Factions and Nightfall, you see them every once and a while on ebay as well. It's just that they sell so damn fast that they're not up there very long.

The ebay sites that had it were legit, when the Retailer Circuit City went bankrupt and started dumping stock, they had some copies they had lost in warehouses somewhere, and dumped them for half list price, as far as I know, they were 7 copies floating around out there.

If they re-release the Collector's Edition then it wouldn't be as collectible.
So,I see no point just for an emote or such.
But I would try Ebay,or maybe a Gamestop if you have those there,there is a CE in the one near me no one has bought for over a year.

I have been casually looking for collector versions of prophecies for a long time now but no luck in finding one under ??xxx crazy money

I am hoping that one day i manage to find some lost stock in a store some place but i doubt that will ever happen...

are they still making the factions and NF CEs? because in amazon.co.uk theres tons of them- barely ever out of stock, the only place ive seen tehm out of stock is game.co.uk but the website is all lies anyway D:

I was just going to say - try checking out Gamestops. You might get lucky that way. I work at one, and we don't have any CEs, but another by my house has the Nightfall CE. It's priced at $30, and if I remember correctly when I checked the computer, so are the other CEs. Also, some stores knock the price of d-listed (meaning discontinued) PC games down 50%.

So search around. You might get extraordinarily lucky and find one for $15-30. And yes, I'm planning on going back to that store to pick up the Nightfall CE :P
