Hey. First off, welcome to Guild Wars, and Guru.
Secondly, with pretty much all the weapons you find - you're better off selling them to the merchant than to a player. Pretty much the only weapons that are being bought and sold regularly are the weapons that are very rare, or at least somewhat desirable/rare. As a general rule of thumb, if something is not req8 or 9 (req = weapon requirement, eg "Requires 11 Hammer Mastery"), it will not be worth selling. If it's req 9, it usually still isn't unless it's a good skin - which you will usually only find in higher-end areas. A good idea is to check GuildWiki -- look at how many places the item in question drops, and if it mentions being a rare skin or not. If it's not mentioned as a rare skin, usually you'll take longer trying to sell it earning money than you would just playing the game otherwise, and earning money like that. |

Welcome to GW and Guru.
You will want to sell req 9, max damage, inscribable/15^50 weapons to players. Weapons with higher requirements are only worth something more than the merchant offers if it is a rare weapon or "skin" (physical appearance). Either ask someone you know ingame about the items you get, post a thread in our Price Check section or use our search function (make sure it's not an old thread you find as prices change often). |

As a new player, the sooner you join a guild, usually the better off you will be. Although some of the advice you get will be faulty, typically you will learn the most the fastest by being surrounded by people that are willing to help you learn.
So find a nice big PvE (Player versus Environment) guild and make some helpful new friends. (This message brought to you by Dark Order of Retarded Knights (doRk)) |

And also make sure they are max. You won't be able to sell a weapon that isn't req8-9-10 unless it is max damage.
