Help me chose a melee profession
I've owned Prophecies+EoTN for 2 weeks, and decided to get the other campaigns.
so far I really enjoy playing an Ele and a Necro MM. They fit my style of lots of damage to many people. I'm playing with a PBAoE build for my Ele (using [Stone Striker] as the cornerstone of my melee survivability), but I also want to make a true weapon based melee character. I believe once I have all campaigns my choices are warrior, dervish or assassin, and maybe a combination of them would make a great combo. what are the combos that work "best"? Derv/W? Derv/A? I'd like a pretty resilient character, which is why I tend to think Dervish primary rather than Assassin. Planning on soloing this one a bit (with Heroes) Last edited by papaschtroumpf; Mar 16, 2009 at 10:37 PM // 22:37.. |

Play Warrior. They offer huge damage capabilities and slots spare on their bar for utility/support.
[Save Yourselves!] Is an example. |

go derv. you said you like AoE and scythes hit up to 3 foes and can still use "SY!".. earth prayers > NM PvE i solo tanked shiro the whole time my team got bonus during GoM...with AoB! and he was at about 10-15% health when they finished... in ya face AoB haters!
ps:AoB is a great skill especially for h/h it has 3 things every derv build needs and allows the rest of your bar to do whatever you want it to do Last edited by Bong Bro Zac; Mar 17, 2009 at 12:48 AM // 00:48.. |

Derv Primary, They can do anything except cast spells but they can do more damage then a fire ele anyway!

Since you've got eight character slots, why not make one of each and see which one you like better?
If you still drool for my opinion, I would say Dervish. |

If you want my opinion, it would be warrior due to their insane armor level and playing them will help you understand a lot of game mechanics.

I would suggest Warrior because I believe them to be more versatile than the other melee professions.

Dervish! Assassins can be fun but they're very squishy for melee and can be easily screwed over if a chain is interrupted, and I find Warriors to be flat-out boring to play. But I absolutely love Dervish, and I'm going to disagree with the poster above me and state that my opinion is that Dervish is the most versatile melee profession.
