Title says it all. Is it approx. the aggro radius or not? It may be printed on a quick reference leaflet that goes with the game, but i`ve lost it somewhere

Yes earshot = aggro bubble.

outside temple of balthazar, the test dummies have rings around them that may help u get a more visual ideal of range. or go out with a buddy and see how far he can stand away from u while still being affected by the shout. do some research ;-)

Also seen it described as shortbow range. In practice, for a Paragon get closer than that.

this is one thing I'd like to see improved in GW2. There should be a real-time in game graphical representation of this, rather than very clunky monikers.

Its the range of mobs that they can hear you coming. Avoid foes with good ears!

But yh like above said, just go do tutorial thingie, for new chars or isle of the nameless.
