Ok I just bought a second account so I could store my excess items on, It took me almost an hour to buy the account alone because of maintence on the playNC site. So after I buy the account I was going on it to put all of my 100k or lower items on it. (I needed to this because I was doing a large trade)So when I was going to put my items on there. It said "Your Account was created less that 24hours ago" Im like WTF I wouldnt have spent 30$ on a new account If I knew I wasnt aloud to trade on it for 24hours....I emailed them and they said It said I couldnt trade. But It never said that, has anyone ever seen a message come up saying u cant trade b4 u buy prophs????

Ye, for some time now new accounts are not allowed to trade, or to drop items etc for the first 24 hours....
Probably to stop goldsellers using test-accounts for their "business". |

Cause of bad people, good people suffer that inconvenience. Sad but true.

It is a mechanism to inhibit gold for money traders. Hopefully your trade isn't one of those. If it IS one of those, I'm glad you wasted the cash. If it isn't, you really aren't harmed as long as the person you are trading with isn't a total jerk.

A while back there was a spate of people using trial account to get run to Temple of the Ages, and then offering to buy Ectos at 5K, and offering 5 gold. Often there would be at least two lvl 1 accounts in ToA doing this. Shortly afterwards they brought in the 24 hour rule. It was only a mild inconvience to me.

Stop right there....
First you will not get banned for trading your stuff to a new account that you made. The admins can see that you are coming from the same internet connection so that is MUTE right there. Second I do this all the time. I have moved 100K + black dyes and mini gwen all in pre around from one toon to the other on different accounts cause I was rounding up all my gold and stuff to put on the SAME toon. i did not get a ban or nothing. Anet is not stupid just protective. On top of all of this yes there should have been some notification as the to restrictions before you created the account. Why pay 30 buck for something that you can not use right away is the point. Not what about tomorrow. What if I am dead tomorrow there are no guarantees you know. Second...if these criminals - who are smarter than Anet cause they are obviously succeeding - have a brain they would buy an account today and then wait a day. they simply would buy 20 accounts at the same time. Buy 20 today and then 20 tomorrow. So the time is just a "delay" not a Deturant at all cause they can still chat with people and gather the gold and stuff. So the moral is...Anet treats EVERYONE as a Criminal and still can not stop the gold selling and buying. All it does is frustrate those that pay and those that buy and sell gold just laugh at threads like this... Oh on a further note. I traded 50k in pre for 100K in post. I did that twice in 3 minutes and never even though of getting a ban. So Anet should change how it describes the usage of an account before one actually buys it. It is the PRINCIPAL of the thing not the THING itself. |

It stops bots and gold sellers from using trial accounts for RMT, as well as closed a loophole where botters were setting up new accounts to repeat the first mission of NF endlessly for gold and then giving it to a different account (was a big deal for about a week, flood of lvl1 necros in GToB). Breathe, go outside, go play a different character, all will be well in 24 hours. |

Dude, lol.
I bought an account recently to trade over some stuff, and I was prompted with that message. What did I do? I stopped thinking about it and went to trade the items later, 30+ hours after I had bought it. |
